Sevilla (N) | UEFA Super Cup | Post-Match Thread

What a strange post in reaction to a win

I was just worried about Saturday, but I am ok today.

It looked very hot on TV at that game last night plus we are very early into the season and also I thought Newcastle looked very good in game week 1.

I think also I am struggling to get my head around a Prem game at 8 o'clock on a Saturday evening, is this a new thing for this season or is it a one-off because of us being in the Super-Cup?

Happened just in front of where we were sat. It wasn’t that bad and it looked more like he wanted replacing because he was knackered. Takes some getting used to our style and intensity of play. He will get used to it and will get stronger and fitter.
nope, it was pretty ugly and they zoomed in on it on tv. also not the type of guy who wants out just because he’s tired or something.

Prem games are often played at 8pm , on a saturday not so much

Straight after the final whistle last night I caught a glimpse of an engraver putting City’s name on the trophy. It must take quite a while to do so I’m assuming there are two trophies at the ground pre engraved. Anybody know if this is a fact?
So they just melt down the Super Cup with the name "Sevilla" engraved on it, do they?

This sort of thing is done after the match, it's not that hard or time consuming when you're a top-level engraver with a stencil.

a quite lethargic game at times, no wonder in that heat, it was probably relentless. But the lads dug deep to come out winners. Im not impressed by this spanish way of playing, we deserved the trophy.

watched on tv, couldnt get to excited about it, felt like a charity shield in greece. Wrong venue just to suit uefa.

well done though lads and the fans for making that journey.

Gutted I couldn’t afford it last night but well done to those who were there, tremendous support, completely outsung Sevilla. Out of interest, from those who were there, how many City fans do you reckon were there and how many of them do you reckon were from England? I am guessing a fair few would be new fans from Greece? Looking at the scenes when we won the shoot out I am guessing a large part of the crowd was neutral?
Couldn’t put a figure on it but think there were quite a lot, guys behind us were from Palestine and Holland
