Re: shit style of football

Picking holes in Mancini's team selection and tactics has been too easy for too long now. Every single cliched mistake which an Italian manager coming to England could make, Mancini has made and continues to make. All the wailing and gnashing of teeth about it only being a friendly is fair enough. However it takes a fucking blind, deaf, and dumb, man to NOT see that this preseason NOTHING has changed in terms of the way in which Mancini intends to set out his stall next season.

For better or for worse, I hope that he gets the wins required in the first half of the season to keep the wolves from the door...

Except he has signed two attacking fullbacks and a creative midfielder who haven't played yet but would totally transform that formation into something potentially explosive? Add in Balotelli up front and possibly Milner and we could, just could be devastating. And of course, we also have Tevez who hasn't featured.

Sorry, but there is no way Mancini intends to play that formation with players like Bridge, Zabaleta and Ireland involved (on a regular basis at least) - they are just not of the standard required to make it work, hence his signings.

Pathetic that people cannot even wait for the season to actually start to piss and moan. Can't say I am surprised though...

I'm curious - is it difficult breathing with your head buried so deep in the sand?

This forum is officialy shit. Some of the negative people on here are way wayyyy to fickle. I seriously tend to dislike our fan base when i read this shite, we got some gloryhunters now! Its a friendly, last year we had a shite pre-season and look how we started.

What sort of shit is this? Because someone has an open mind and poses a genuine critique or question, rather than sits wearing the 'i cant possibly say one slightest thing negative or it come across as criticism hat', it means they are fickle? or a gloryhunter?

Your point is shit mate. There is nothing wrong with honest fans who live, breath, everything City, for 20,30,40,50 or whatever years plus asking questions about formations and tactics if they feel something should be questioned. I agree that over pessimism, and criticism when not warranted is annoying sometimes, but if someone wants to vent, then as a Blue, we are the club, and people can say what they like. You dont have to agree with what they say, but generalising the forum as shit and fans as gloryhunters is the shittest point I have ever heard.

Snappy comeback.

I know all the positivity around the club at the moment is killing you, but if you wait until there is actually some substance to bleat about it will be easier to take you seriously.

Otherwise you just look like you can't wait to have a right good moan.

You know fuck all about me kid. I on the other hand, have been following your posts since you decided it was wise to call me a rag towards the end of last season. I'm going to clue you up on something - this board isn't designed solely for the purpose of entertaining the teenbopping happy clapping masses. People like me have every right to criticise. Yes, even preseason friendlies. If you don't like it - you can jog off. Otherwise, in the immortal words of a smarter man than me, "have a coke and a smile and shut the fuck up..."

Mancini is going to either prove me very wrong or very right. If he proves me right, I will have ZERO happiness in it as it will mean that City won't succeed. If on the other hand he proves me totally wrong I'll be delighted as it will mean that City have succeeded on some level.

It does seem that Mancini's style of play requires two very good fullbacks, something City have not had for decades. In fact they have often been the worst players in our teams.

So we were always going to struggle playing his way with a) poor fullbacks and b) immobile/unenergetic midfielders.

With Yaya now installed in midfield and possibly Milner that's b) sorted.

Hopefully Boateng and Kolarov will be improvements on Zabaleta/Richards and Bridge/Garrido. I suspect they will.

With all due respect mate this was our 5th preseason game and you would expect some improvement. We didn't a clue out there tonight and looked so disjointed. Can't wait for tevezto come back so we can see some urgency in our play.

Yeah but it's not like we've regularly played our first team in the games. It's been alot of youth, and people like Jo. We've also not had Silva, Koloarov, Tevez, Boateng, etc,.
For me, these games are more about match fitness more than anything else.

We had 3 maybe 4 players missin at most - two fullbacks Kolorov and Boatang - Tevez obviously and maybe Silva

That was our 5th game looked like our first - we were shocking. Bellamy needed to play why the fook Jo played on the left god knows - even play AJ on the left and SWP on the right

Cant make too many excuses fella - i would have expected to see some improvements between the 1st and the last game of the season if anything we have got worst.
