Never mind Scholes.

Let's see if they can stop Silva.

there shity defence cant stop him

Mr- Scholes, - meet Mr. De Jong.
Mr. De Jong, - EAT Mr. Scholes.

That should take care of that little, yet potentially concerning issue.

"That goal might be the last point of reference for those City supporters accustomed to being on the wrong end of Scholes’s talents, but the mere fact that a three-page thread emerged on the bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk fans forum on Tuesday entitled “Shackling Scholes” only encapsulated his status as the real red devil in the blue half of Manchester"

Scholes was given acres of room in last year's derby to sit deep and spray passes at will to the wings. (Carrick also does this pretty well).

To combat this:

1) Tevez / Silva / Yaya need to hassle him out of his stride (not De Jong as it will destroy our shape + balance if Nige is dragged that far up the pitch)

2) Our full-backs need to push up and get tight to Nani / Giggs / Park / Evra etc as they sit out on the wings waiting for the pass

If we can do both of the above, I think Scholes can be caught in posession quite easily (he's lot a bit of speed of movement over the years) as he has been in a few games for Utd this season already.

Think of it like "sacking" the Quarter Back in american football + forcing a turnover: if he looks up and sees no free man on the wings - he tends to want to take the extra touch.. and we need to be over him like a rash.
