rubbish. always has been, and it seems, doing a good job making sure that it always will be.

never watched the show personally, but due to family members raving i tried not to be ignorant. one word of advice to the writers, if you are going to try satirize working class people from the north, please try and add some humility.

i don't think i've ever seen a poorer programme.

Try and work that one out if you can ;)

Big difference for me was some very funny characters,Marty,Kev,Veronica,Marty and Veronica's mother, leaving and some pretty naff one's,like the old bird from Father Ted that are on the show now.

It's difficult for any show to keep on being funnny and original,I'm afraid this one run it's course a long time ago,a lot of the scenes that used to cause a bit of a shock on the show,the shagging and violence,just seem a bit repetitive now.

Doesn't offer anything new for me now.Do agree that Mickey is still worth watching though.

I'm with gstar on this one........not watching shameless because you have misconceptions about what it's like to be a Mancunian on a tough inner city estate seem rather pompous and snobbish. Perhaps you had a more priviledged upbringing? I was brought up in Gorton and Chorlton On Medlock and believe me
Shameless isn't far off the mark.

shameless is a tv show aphex so obviously not real life BUT some of the chracters are VERY recognisable to me in real life.

and my background is nothing but trouble...especially with City :))

beg to differ bud..! I worked for Oldham council for 12yrs, and spent many a night on Coldhurst only last yr watchin the fun out of the window..! furniture flyin off balconys, prostitutes screamin at clients all night...doors gettin kicked in whilst dealers were taxed... was never ending..!!
