Near that bloke who lives near me.
To me he is. I can't think of any other Prem keeper I'd chooose over him (and that includes Petr Cech, who until recently I thought was arguably the best in the world).
If you look at the contenders: Rob Green, Manual Almunia, Pepe Reina etc, would anybody really choose any of them over Shay Given?

Fair enough, on occasions he perhaps doesn't command his area like he should, but all things considered for me he's definitely the best shot-stopper currently playing in the Prem.

Yes particularly as a shot stopper when he has had nothing to do for half an hour!

One fault though he needs to start commanding his box and come for some of these crosses that seem to cause us alsorts of trouble!

Shay is the best shot stopper by a country mile.

Maybe not as commanding as Cech in the air but I think he is better overall than the Chelsea keeper.

We have got ourselves a bargain!!

I said last night, if we get too the champions league(As they won't rate him in that catergy untill he is on a big stage), people will look at him as one of the best in the world.

He has experience, concentration is excellent, shot stopping is great, and his kicking (Especially last night) was superb.

that new arseanl keeper was quality against fulham, but Shay has been amazing for us since hes been here

the best by a country mile, even rags admit it.

my sentiments too. chatting at the begining of the season with some rag mates , all trying but failing to goad me , i said i believed given was the best in the league, they thought long and hard and had to agree with me, they dont rate foster at all which is some admission coming from their armchair sitting red tinted glasses perspective. They even agreed when i said van der sar wasnt as good as his record would have you believe, because their defence last season meant he had nothing to do most of the time.

Easily.

Pepe isn't too bad, would probably be my choice of keepr if we didn't have Given.

But Seamus is in another league, has some of the best reflexes I've ever seen. Saves like the ones against Felliani last year and Berbatov in the Derby were unhuman.
