"Shay Given is Not a Good Goalkeeper"

Let's be honest here. Do you really think that the likes of Freidel, Schwarzer, Green, Hart, Almunia, Howard and Jääskeläinen can't do what Given has done?

They are not shit keepers by any means but that doesn't mean Given deserves any footballly masturbations everytime he makes a save.

Yes I do think pretty much all of those aren't as good a shot stopper as Given.

Yeh I heard Scarlett Johannson once picked her nose and Roger Federer occasionally hits his backhand shots at 80 mph instead of 83.
Are you having a giraffe?

Which bit of what i've wrote above is'nt correct....the kid chatting about a curve shot is on the money cause unless i'm seeing things he comes off his line when theres no need and stays on it for crosses into the 6 yard box...if you think thats world class then thats your own business. If we're reckoning to get serious then the players will be looked at seriously....like i said earlier Corrigan for his last 5 years was a more complete keeper than Shay.

Which bit of what you wrote made fucking sense you mean!
he come off his line 3 yard to narrow a supposed angle that wa'nts there (the striker was sniffing down the cente line)........righto okay, so I can picture Shay coming off his line by three yards when - in your opinion - it was unnecessary to do so. But 'the striker was sniffing down the centre-line'...wtf???? What centre-line?!
Okay I will assume the striker is running, with the ball, down the centre of the pitch towards goal. I hope I have that correct.
unfortunately for City the striker seen the non productive 3 yard shift and simply lifted the ball high left (which passed the goal line at shoulder height) with Given stranded and even the notion of a dive futile....where it would'nt have been had he stayed put
The first bit is self-explanatory. The striker noticed Given leave his line and shot towards the top left corner...yes? but then.......'which passed the goal-line at shoulder height'....eh??? So now he's shot across the goal-line? Huh??
Okay so now we have to assume the striker was on the goal line the whole time. And maybe Given had come out anticipating a cross from him.
Thankfully only the striker clocked the inappropriate move from Given and it certainly was not chalked up
So the ball whizzed past the far post? I'm sorry, I am genuinely guessing here. Or maybe it went ominously across the goal but thankfully no-one else had spotted the opportunity created by the blundering buffoon Shay?
it was nevetheless a shot from enough distance that could be well enough seen, hit with medium pace.
So the striker shot from a fair old distance?....across the goal-line?....and Shay had come out anticipating a cross? This is all conjecture from me because your description made no....fucking....sense...at all.
For Gods sake dont offer your services to commentate for the blind at games. You'll have their heads spinning.
And your point about Shay not being as complete a keeper as Corrigan. That may be so (though argueable) but its also like enjoying a really tasty meal in a restaurant but complaining to the management because you once had a better meal on holiday in Corsica.
In conclusion....you're an idiot.

Although I don't necessarily agree with what Glendenning says, I do listen to the Guardian podcast and they're all unbiased and rarely talk bullshit or aim digs at City, so I can easily accept this as his opinion; it's not him trying to put City down.

A metaphor for this entire thread.....

Man she's hot! She's stunning!!! Perfection!!!!
.....no....wait......her eyes look a bit far apart.......and that hair could do with a brush through it.....and her nose looks a teensy bit flat.

Shay Given is a fantastic goalkeeper with a couple of weak points to his game (like every keeper ever born has...even the much-fabled Buffon). But the important thing is that he is brilliant. Surely?

LOL

"you're an idiot"....Thats an opinion fuck-prick-c**t.

Striker centre of pitch, still defenders to beat everyones running back towards the goal...everythings covered....strikers 22/24 yards out glancing and clocks given jump forward 3 yard and check left and right where his posts are...thats the very moment he said 'thanks very much Paddy i'll have a slow high enough bend that does'nt need to risk hitting the bar with you being off your line". On his line and all things being equal it would take something special to beat him, if he decides to indicate to a striker where exactly to place the ball...with him knowing the dynamics of a high enough bent shot have changed dramatically once the keeper is not on his line...then the fucking obvious is going to happen.in fact if your double gormless i'll expand to the point where a ball can cross a goal line at floor level after having been lifted over and above the goalkeepers non jumping stretch.

"And your point about Shay not being as complete a keeper as Corrigan. That may be so (though argueable) but its also like enjoying a really tasty meal in a restaurant but complaining to the management because you once had a better meal on holiday in Corsica"

i suppose it's a bit like it if your swede ain't working reet.

The striker thought 'thanks very much Paddy' did he? Was this a charity game involving Jim Davidson?

Rooney Derby....4 yards (max), thanks a lot Shay.
