It's odd that we still have the same poor defence as always, cleary we became shit when Given came, or? He's clearly a better shot stopper than anything else, but what you guys are suggesting is madness. At least after a game where he is not at fault what so ever. I could respect and understand Given coming under fire if he actually had a bad game, and fecked up, but come on. Whats going on really? Are we so clueless and desperate to figure out the problem that we just throw out accusations and make something new up and guess? Unbelievable.

incorrect, it's been highlighted by alot of people on here and it's MASSIVE weakness in Givens game and our back 4, having a keeper who can command is like an extra defender, we don't have that, this topic has come up so many times, it's not just as a result of todays game this thread, it's starting to become a regular thing now.

Exactly. Some people seem to think its a knee jerk reaction after a draw/defeat but some of us are saying the same thing every week even if we have won.

I have said this before and will say it again-yes he is a good shot stopper, but how many of these shots wouldnt happen if he actually came off his line every now and then? He cannot catch, he either punches or stays on the line. He is almost silent in his own area. And for someone so good, why have other clubs never come in for him in the past?

A good penalty saver and nothing else.

Exactly my point too, why go on about it as one of the big incident or points of the game, when he was not at fault today? So we have not had a goalkeeper who can command the area for about 10 years? Seeing how the defence is doing the usual fuck ups no matter what, oh thats right, they did it Hart too, not to long ago. Yes he's young and still learning, but do you really think SUDDENLY Hart has improved SO MUCH that the defensive problem would go away? To god damn easy to blame Given.

i love Given, haven't got a problem with him at all, i think he's a quality player, just highlighting a massive problem in his game, and at the moment i've never seen him play so bad and at times he's a liability, recently i don't know what happened to him, watch the highlights, looks scared on every set-piece.
