I did mine 2 years ago, no surgery required, but I was told no sport for 3 months, but I'm not a Premier League keeper, if as suggested above its been injured before, he will find it difficult to play again at all.

Disapointed....you better believe I am, it might cost us the 4th spot. Aside from the fact that I wouldn't wish any injury on any of our players.IrishMacca said:DontLookBackInAnger said:Well that would be back in training the end of Aug, so it's not too far off and for a keeper, I'm guessing its an injury that you're slow to fully recover from.
No need to sound so disaspointed. The top physios and docs do amazing work these days.
And for people saying that he wont be the same, Brian O Driscoll had his shoulder badly dislocated, (still wasn't back in after 45 mins of trying) back in 05 after being dumped on his head in a Lions game, and has had no problem with it since, never dislocated it again, and he uses his shoulders a hell of a lot more in tackles with more pressure and force and weight on it.

You didn't exactly have the resources Given has available to him, and I never remember him injuring his shoulder before.
And I've seen players come back from worse.

No its obvious that I didn't, but there are very few injuries worse than this for a keeper.
To be honest, I don't rate Given as highly as many here, but I very much doubt Hart will ever play for City again and that being said EVEN if I did want Hart as my No1 next season, it doesn't help us over the next 3 games, does it?IrishMacca said:DontLookBackInAnger said:Disapointed....you better believe I am, it might cost us the 4th spot. But sure now Hart can be number one so great..that seems to be what most people are thinking.

There are no good injuries. The injury he got against West Ham a few years ago was life threatening, that led to a reoccuring groin injury which led to shocking kicking, and he played through pain for a long time.
There is no good injury for any player.
But I've seen rugby players come back from dislocated shoulders, and it'd effect them worse I'd imagine.
Brian O Driscoll, a terrible dislocation, like I said took them almost an hour to put it back in, he did a lot of damage to the shoulder, besides the dislocation, and he's had no problems since, and that was 5 years ago.

Errrr rugby players don't ever need to dive full weight onto their sides (shoulders), keepers do, if as has been suggested he's already had this injury then its a weakness. When I did mine, I was told by the doctors, that once its occurred, its very very likely to recur, and I was advised not to land heavily on it again.
