Sheffield United (A) | PL | Post-Match Thread

Three points is what counts. That’s another one of those games that we might look back on at the end of the season and say in the past, we would have drawn that, but no, as soon as they equalised, we upped our game and got the winner. The sign of a top team. Well done City.

Didn't like that at all but 3 points is 3 points however you get it.

Little invention in the side without kdb and foden, that has to change moving forward, hopefully doku will help massively with that.

Once we got the goal, i really didn't like our approach. They didn't change at all, still sat in and let us have it yet we completely took our foot off the gas sat on the ball and invited pressure which then led to mistakes instead of going for the second and killing it off and it put us in danger of dropping points.

Midfield 2 of rodri and kovacic were majestic throughout, backline was great, Gvardiol slotted straight in looks brilliant already yet there's plenty more to come from him.

Ominous for would be challengers if we dont have our usual slow start and dropped points to the season. The mental fragility of the rest will work in our favour.

Get through the Fulham game get pep back. Get stones back, doku settled and hopefully another signing or two before the window closes and we'll be in the best shape to a season we've been for a while.

Three points is all that matters. Shocking defending will cost us against better teams, but we all know that.

No ther teams with 100% record.
We are always slow starters in early season so to be 100% and top of the league after a short break and pre season and Pep off sick is quite remarkable

Foden fanboys are so tiresome. His assist was a mis-control of the ball, but sure, yeah, the win was all down to Phil. Excuse me while I go fetch the eyes that have just rolled right out of my head.
I didn't say it was 'all down to him', did I?

He created a clear-cut chance for Alvarez literally the minute he came on... and the mis-control was absolutely blasted into him from Walker. He did as well as he could have with it.

We haven’t clicked properly yet this season - hopefully we can get 3 points next week and start again after the international break.

I can understand why Pep wants to play Bernado on the right wing in big games, but against teams like today he’s better in the middle. Did very little out wide.

Foden looked good again and I’m not sure we would have got that winner without him on the pitch.
