Playing with 1 striker scored 1 goal

Last game played without any striker and ended up scoring 5 goals !

Is the team playing better without any striker ?
Without Aguero, i do think our best side at the moment is 5 (6 including Cancelo) midfielders playing wherever they want.

it seems kyle is the new whipping boy since gundo is on form and ffs on the bench.he has been excellent all year
Seems we always need a whipping boy, even when we win 12 on the bounce.
Can't believe we missed out on the Jesse Lingard loan opportunity, he'd have been a natural for the spot.

Jenas being very effusive about us on MOTD.

Very positive about zinchenko and i think both him and Cancelo do thrive in this tactical set up which we have 2 options for. It’s pretty much a 3 2 in as much as you can pin down a formation

Walker Dias Laporte

Dinho zinchenko

Or

Stones Dias Laporte

Cancelo Rodri

Plenty of variables in that for personnel

Yes. Go back to playing a midfielder in the false 9 role. I understand why pep made the changes and it is good to have different options if we are going to achieve anything this season. We control midfield and bombard the opposition defence without a forward.

I’m not sure if I understand fully but I like it
Soz, it's the buzz that fucked up me geometry :) it's sort of a diamond

Zinchenko ahead of Dinho, closer to Phil and Gündo.

I agree. Kyle was one of our best players last season. Coming back into the team today he was poor. But ffs cut him some slack. This season we will need all the squad. He is much better defensively than Cancelo and there will be critical moments this season when Kyle is crucial. Pep knows what he is doing.

i disagree & today Walker played as he was told. He was in the team as defensive security against pace on the break, I think he’ll get the nod against the Dippers.

Very positive about zinchenko
I thought it was good analysis about Zinchenko, I hadn't really noticed him in the game live, but it was a bit Gareth Barry esque, sometimes you need an analysis to appreciate what he brings, he does appear a lot for a pass when others are in trouble, and he doesn't give it away much. Once again he's fought his way into this team, and earned his place.

I thought we had some poor performances today, Walker first half in particular (trying too hard ?), Torres generally kept giving the ball away, and in positions that allowed them to break, Gundogan was quiet I thought, Jesus again not great (goal apart, and that took a couple of touches).

Totally agree

At 6th December, there had been 16 foul throws in the Premier league season - total. (Can't find anything more up to date).
Bellerin had done 5 for Arsenal. Well dodgy.
Somehow we managed two in the first half.

He might, but if he does I think Cancelo will be on the left.

Weve got 2 world class right backs who offer 2 very different ways of playing. I think Zinchenko gives us good balance on the left & is an outlet with his distribution, I like him but Mendy makes me nervous.

I liked that too, and Tbf to the lad he gets pelters for mistakes but has never really been given a go in midfield where he might do a job.
