Sheffield Utd (A) post match thread

1 Nil wins enhances the mentality, decent performance. Have to put the chances away, don't start Mahrez again, Rodri still needs to work on tracking runners. First time in 2 years actually confident about our defense. Walker MOTM

There is no joy in that City squad. Certainly no joy watching them. I enjoyed the Pearce days more that this. And I'm not joking. Give me Vassell and Cole over Sterling and Mahrez. Or
Bosvelt over Rodri. We are awful. Something needs to change. Probably the only change is me walking away finally.

Lol really who do you support ? And dont say City....

I think we’re conditioned to be nervous because of the one chance one goal conceded thing that’d been going on but if we start become more solid it’ll relax a lot of us because we’ll have faith in the defence again
I had a quick glance at my phone a couple of times in the second half and expected that the score would be 2-1, but I was delighted that it never appeared, and at 2.35 I thought, Oooooooooh, dare I risk a glance!

Hmm...still not sure if it was a god game or a good game management, I hope it was intentionally the later one.
Riyad had a very good 1st half and then he fell from the cliff. Bernardo opposite and I think Pep needs to forget about him being another Merlin, he is not even close. But stick him further up and to the right and he shines wit his individual skills and industry.
Rodri was extremely good left to his own in the MF, our two CBs are going to be our best CB pair since the takeover, but Kyle is coming head and shoulders above anybody else. He's been phenomenal so far in the season.
On the other side, our decision making when in the box has awful. It's been 1-15 times we are on pass from scoring a goal, but that pass never came about. And KdB needs some time from the football, a week, 10 days, I don't know how, when, but right now he is not very good at all. I am not sure when this tendency came about, but he started forcing his game so much that almost everything he does comes wrong.

As long as the defence is good I’m happy, goals will come but a good defence is harder to keep as shown by last season. When Aguero and Gabby are back we’ll be fine
I hope that’s the case but I’m not entirely convinced it is, if we are creating dozens of chances but the striker/replacement is missing them then fine but we’re not really doing that, our attacking issues are predominately found away from the centre forward position. I suppose we will find out when Jesus is back.

You need to read your post again, and tell me how we entertain you then at 1-0 and in what way. Surely the only way is to attack and score thus leaving defence exposed or is there another way?

Or, even better, you can go and read my post again and tell me where I've said that.

How about making subs earlier on to keep the tempo up? How about starting one of your best players instead of that ball hogging dickhead on the right wing? How about we stop giving opponents all the time in the world to get back and reorganise before we decide to actually attack?

If you thought that was an entertaining performance then fine, don't let me get in the way of your enjoyment. Personally, I think we've gone from being the most exciting team to watch in Europe to being one of those boring, sideways passing, possession for possession's sake teams over the last year.

I thought Rodri didn't do as great as people said he did.

He played really well mate .... he did a really effective job in continually breaking up Sheffield Uniteds play, and gettin City moving forwards again .... no frills, but really focused, and VERY effective in front of that back four.
