Sheffield Utd (A) post match thread

After being so free scoring yet defensively shocking, the new City are less nervy to watch but unbelievably frustrating with their inefficiency in front of goal. I can't answer whether it's good or bad but I always loved the idea of effectively having an extra point in the bag, so to speak, with our unrivalled goal difference. This is no longer the case and that could be crucial.

Pep & Mancini both have their positives , if we were winning 1-0 with Mancini in charge we were always confident we would win the game , Pep's football is a joy to watch , but if he could close games out like Bobby did then we would be the complete team, But todays result is a great example that Pep is realising sometimes we should keep what we have.
Very optimistic after todays result , we showed we can see out games.

Looked a bit tired in the second. Lost a grip of it a bit for 15 mins or so in the second half but fairly happy on the whole. Good to see Sterling beating men again

There is no joy in that City squad. Certainly no joy watching them. I enjoyed the Pearce days more that this. And I'm not joking. Give me Vassell and Cole over Sterling and Mahrez. Or
Bosvelt over Rodri. We are awful. Something needs to change. Probably the only change is me walking away finally.
So you prefer Andy Fuckin Cole over Sterling. The most moronic post of the week, month, year, goes to you. Ta ta.

We tend to play all our games these days in second or third gear, rarely moving any higher in a match and certainly not for prolonged periods. We'd normally have seen that kind of 'game management' in matches ahead of a really big game, or when we had a horrendous fixture pile up. Now, however, we can expect that same level of intensity in all games, no matter the opposition; don't even expect anything to be different next week either. Players are consciously playing within themselves, knowing that if they don't conserve, they risk burn out or physical injury. I doubt it has anything to do with a lack of crowds, so we just have to adjust to this new reality.

A solid 1-0 away win. Did more than enough to win by 3. Final ball often the let down. Mahrez ok today. Certainly did no less than Bernardo (the odd goal or assist would be nice) and KDB (poor choice of pass and poor execution in the final third). Oliver reluctant to show any yellows for their rough tactics. Kicking us and late challenges seemingly overlooked.

Not much on here today about Michael Oliver performance today.
He didn't have much to do or make any game changing decisions thankfully.
Few fouls in particular which was frustrating was Ampadu taking down Bernardo with a cynical foul gone unpunished.
Max Lowe had two on KDB (second one completely took him out) also no yellow card shown.

He's still a ****.

agree i think some think the players can play at 100% flat out every match with only 2 days to recover. Like you i think this how City will play most of their games this season.
