Good side that, nothing wrong with the defence, Walker is fucking brilliant and it’s against his old club, didn’t he score against them last season too? No issues with Laporte either, we have a lot of games coming up. I reckon Stones needed a rest.

Stones had a rest against Cheltenham last week and can rest against Swansea in ten days again. We're still very likely to win, I just don't like the rotation between centre backs.

Foden playing.
Laporte was our best defender on paper at the start of the season.
The midfield is the strongest available (Fernandinho in better form than rodri)

Pep mentioned something not long ago about Dias’ conditioning being brilliant and he was amazed at how much he looked after his body.

Stones has been besieged with injuries in his time with us. He needs rotating from time to time.

Stonesy hasnt exactly been a picture of health during his career so I don't think resting him is the worst thing here.

We're about to hit a difficult stretch, playing twice a week against some difficult opponents. Very likely the title could be decided in the next month.

Getting Stones, Rodders, Cancelo, etc. some rest while Laporte, Walker, Torres get up to match fitness is what we need. We will need the whole squad firing.

No offence to the Blades but theyre a poor side and are decimated at the moment, they can barely fill out their bench. This is the ideal time to rest a few tired legs and get others some minutes.

dias and Laporte haven’t had time together like he has with stones.

if we carried on with stones and Dias what happens if stones gets injured before a crucial game

it’s wise to bed them in as a partnership now rather than have to throw them in together down the line.

We can`t play the same team week in,week out and thats the advantage of having a bloody good squad who can rotate.
Prior to his injury any one could see that KDB in some games looked absolutely knackered after an hour,as Pep had over played him.

Not to mention that while I love stones and hes clearly picked up form, Ruben seems to be the better pure defender so its easier to swap out laporte and stones next to him
