Sheffield Wednesday on the brink… | Enter administration (p30)

Smith and Windass gone on a free after mutual termination. Can't have many first teamers left.

They could probably fetch some money for both but I'm assuming can't afford to keep paying them.

Horrific season in store for Wednesday.

its like death by a thousand cuts, awful to watch. Got mates who follow them and are fanatics, dare not call them,.

And maybe Morecambe someone said earlier, I hope neither turn out to be another Brighton where some turd sells the ground for a supermarket.

And Sheikh Mansours the bad guy?

Apparently it's down to 12, I also expect more to leave in the next week or so too.

If you're a Wednesday player right now you are basically a free agent and trying to find a club. Free transfers so result for the better players who might get a pay rise.

But for the average players it's a case of just finding a club that will pay the wages. You would expect every one to leave If they find that, many will have the dilemma of moving down the pyramid or lower wages or sticking it out and hoping a new owner comes in.

I don't blame anybody that leaves, we wouldn't turn up for work if we hadn't been paid for 2 months.

Amazing to think the season starts in 3 weeks

Snoop Dogg should have gone for them instead of Swansea.
If the owner is an arsehole and is refusing to sell at a reasonable price then nothing can be done.

In reality SWFC is a liability righ now. Anyone who 'bought' the club for a pound would instantly have tod pay all the tax debts, wages etc. The club probably needs to go into administration to get rid of Chansiri.

Problem with that is the biggest creditor is Chancer.

Can we get our £2.2 million back then?

Only kidding…

Administration could be your best way out of it and if HMRC are owed money they will get it and could force the owners hand in all this

Can't be arsed checking but have the EFL said anything about the situation?
When the embargo's were coming thick and fast we had statements etc, but nothing since 18th June. Likewise the PFA released a statement regarding the none payment of wages, but if we have to field a team of U21's to start the season will we get one regarding our player welfare of "kids" having to step up to play Championship football (I think we know the answer to that)

Similar to Bolton it doesn't matter if we get smashed every week, if we can field a team and finance it for the season that's all they'll care about.

They can't interject and force Chancer to sell, unless he has broken ownership rules. Look how Reading was going, it only came to a head when it was revealed he had a criminal record in China, which is against the rules.

So the EFL are leaving it up to you. But are other clubs questioning whether the early fixtures could be potentially easier for your opponents if you can only play kids and fringe players? You can be sure the cry babies in the PL would be making a fuss if it happened there.

You can guarantee if goal difference comes into play for promotion/relegation it will come up

Absolutely ridiculous, what's been allowed to happen there? What are the EFL doing?
What can they do? The owner is being an arse, but the EFL are powerless unless he's breaking the law. He might be breaking EFL rules of course, but any action taken would be against the club rather than against the owner. They can't force him to sell even if he's placing them in a position that means they can't field a side of first-team players.
Businesses are run into the ground but should a business which doesn't have real alternatives be treated as just another business?
