Sheffield Wednesday on the brink… | Enter administration (p30)

Ive seen quotes of around 7000 too which I believe makes it one of our lowest home league attendances ever.

Fair play to the players last night who gave it a go, Boro should have won more easily but despite everything going on the players are not throwing the towel in. Bottom line is the squad is just not good enough, the oldest player on the bench last night was 22 and the majority of them had not played football at this level.

Hats off to the fans too, if you decided to go that's your choice and the same if you decided to boycott. I stayed at home.
We need to dig in for the winter as the battle to rid of this owner and save the club is just beginning.

Also confirmed that young striker George Brown is out for 6 weeks, this added to the news that young centre back Ernie Weaver is out until April. Both have played really well for the first team but have been thrown in at the deepend and their bodies not up to the rigors of the championship.

Them pictures are heartbreaking. Ive always had a soft spot for the Owls. I totally agree with the boycotting because it's the only way to get rid of this vile fucking parasite in the long run. I just pray you don't run out of time. A good battling performance last night by the sound of it but a defeat all the same. I sometimes think our fanbase was too loyal for its own good in the 80s and 90s, I think if we'd of done this in the early 80s,Swales would of fucked off a lot sooner. Good luck going forward, you're gonna need it! :(

Thanks m8

Regarding loyalty, in my opinion football fans of all clubs are far too loyal, and clubs know this and play on it.

About to go into administration, auto ten penalty deduction. This if talksport are to be believed.

A sad day if confirmed.

Hopefully it will be a way for someone new to take the club on and give the fans something new and exciting to look forward too.

Hold your hats, here we go.

Hopefully we can get through to the other side.

Also I believe it's 12 point deduction in the EFL for entering administration. TBH football wise it's irrelevant this season, and was also likely to be like this before a ball was kicked.

Hoping for the best long term outcome for you pal.

Many will disagree.... but the football regulator is not the answer to anything.
neither is psr or whatever itineration of it they are using this week, while clubs carry significant debt whether it be owed to a bank or to the owners they will always be at risk of falling into trouble, im not saying that debt is a bad thing as most businesses carry debt to operate and if it is serviced correctly then it is fine but it does carry and inherent risk and psr, the football regulator will not mitigate that.

To be honest going down anyway so best get all the bureaucratic crap the FA can dream up out of the way this season
Take the positives being treated like this will galvanise most other supporters except the pigs to your cause

Deducting Everton points for financing a much needed new stadium, Nottingham Forest for buying players after all theirs left out of contract or returned after their loans, chasing Leicester around for the audacity to try and win promotion and stay in the Premier League, changing the rules so that Newcastle and Aston Villa no longer could compete in a market where a Man Utd team are over £1bn in debt, Spurs are about £1bn in debt, and Liverpool are still using the Keegan sale money to fund hundred million pound transfer windows was supposed to save the likes of Sheffield Wednesday.

Absolutely bullshit.
No one in the football authorities or in government are bothered about any club other than the cartel members because they are either a fan of them, or their mates have vested interested in them.

What is happening today will happen to another club, they might not be as big of a name as Sheffield Wednesday, but it will happen again.

Am sorry docking a club in big trouble to then end up a league lower which in turn give them less money is a fucking rule that benefits no one! Who thought up that one hey? Rick Parry is bet who is in the pocket of the bigger clubs! We had over 100 years where we let clubs just get on with it! There are more clubs in trouble now than ever because of these draconian rules! It’s mad that people who don’t give a toss about the lower clubs are running 72 clubs!

It's not a shame, it's a fucking tragedy. All football fans will be thinking it, all decent-minded people who remember the early days of the club and the players that graced the stadium will be thinking it's a tragedy.
Their fans have been treated like 2nd class citizens in a 3rd world country, loyal match-going fans that have followed their beloved football clubs through times thick and thin, cast aside without another thought by those whose knowledge of the game could be written on a Rizla paper.

Best wishes to all you 'Wednesayers.' Hope it all turns out for the better in the long term.
