Ship of fools

An excellent question but one you'll probably wish you hadn't asked.

A significant part of the crew seems to be comfortable with a level of debate at which I am ill-qualified to contribute. I have not set out to personally offend but have rather seen my role as the grit in the oyster. Not many pearls though and it looks like I have delighted some of you long enough. For any bouquets that may follow in my wake I will give thanks and offer them up silently.

Now A rip off quote from Monty Python, can you manage original thought?

Well I never. Only a couple of hours for that reposte to emerge, but still commendably brief.
And you 16 hours to come up with this childish response.
Now fuck off you excuse for a wank stain.

Brief enough for you?

No,it was a rather simple question which received the required explanation.
Which is more than we have ever got from you.
Don't you dare try to assume the intellectual high ground with me,you pious prick.
I have challenged your intransigent notions of belief from the start of this thread, with nothing of substance offered in response.
You have offended me and others from the very inception of this thread.
Anyone of character and substance would have offered me an apology for what I have suffered at the hands of your faith, and demonstrate a degree of contrition.
But that just isn't part of your twisted repertoire,is it?
If you really wish to make amends and atone for what I have been through, please just go away.
I doubt you will - I can but hope.

always been staggered with the attituide to the type of situation you have been through nijinsky or anything of a disturbing nature that mr crossan or his type displays which challanges his perfect world of blind faith
it is beyond belief

Just been looking at your photo Mr Crossan on the 'well who are you?' thread. Well what can I say?? You look like a religious Dave Grohl. ( Sorry Dave )

I could gladly furnish reasons if you like johnny - from being sexually abused as a young altar boy to simply having developed a mind that has no place for irrational and foolish fairy stories.
Maybe,in the interest of balance, you could construct an alternative list of those who suspend common sense in favour of unproveable and divisive claptrap?

It is very sad to hear of your early experience, I can see how such evil could colour your subsequent view of religion.
As to your suggested list, it would be very long, containing 99% of the living + 99% of those who have ever lived. I recognise the argument from consensus is open to easy challenge. (Eat sh*t. A billion billion flies can't be wrong.) But so many people wrong? To me the central question is faith. It is not a question of choosing to believe something. Faith is inescapable.

You may find this interesting, written by an agnostic.
