Shit team great days

I have to admit I loved following City to lots of different grounds and it was great fun with mates etc but watching us now is so different.. absolutely wonderful football and going to games expecting to win rather than thinking we are going to get beat again.
More than happy to be watching us now albeit wouldn't mind being in my 20's or 30's again lol
That’s my one big regret watching this team and the teams since Mancini arrived; I’d have loved to have been watching them in my youth, at Maine road. Can’t have everything though, these are great days

City could sort it out so easily by giving us a proper end at the North Stand and calling it the 93:20 Stand or The Wonderewall or something. Price all adult season tickets at £300 and junior/OAP at £100, and all adult matchday tickets at £30 and junior/OAP at £10 in the stand. Have absolutely no corporate areas in it at all and no tickets going to the ticket tout/tour sites…

There’d then be a stand that gives our fanbase and stadium some identity and would bring back some football fan culture and create a new City fan culture.

If we had that I don't think I’d ever think about the old days, and I know a load of lads who’d come back and support us because we’d have a large number of fairly priced tickets where lads could stand together in a stand everyone would be proud to be part of.

This football club is really missing this. As good as everything on the pitch is, the football fan culture side of things feels like I’ve potentially got the best shoe collection of anyone I know but I only have one shoe in every pair of shoes I own. It all just doesn’t feel right, feels like I’m walking around with one mint shoe on all the time. Give me the other shoe for each pair, for fuck’s sake City!
That's a great post. Put the family stand in the South Stand or the Colin Bell and have a one tier end at the North Stand. It doesn't even have to be humungous, just as high as it currently is but one tiered. The Aguero End would be my vote.

Trust me because I endured watching us home and away through the bad times and it was no fun, getting beat week after week, weekends ruined, watching us now is a joy, enjoy it while it lasts

Spot on mate. Still go, still love my club but it’s lost a bit of the “family” feel about it.

Back in the “day” you’d bump into any blue miles from Manchester and you’d nod and have a natter, saw a blue in a bit of mither you’d help out, no questions. Not sure I would nowadays.
We would always say 90 mins of shit football got in the way of a great day !
Can you imagine the scenes with the fan base back in the 90s having this success ! It would be beyond wild scenes ! The whole of Maine road emptying on the pitch as goater scores in the 93:20 min to win the league !
Back then watching city was a 12 hour day with your mates without a care in the world and not giving a single fcuk about anything, the scrapes and incidents over the years Iam sure we all a book of great tales inside us !

That ground, them fans, that day. Stuff of dreams. Play off final was probably the closest for us.

Yes a proper end is needed. Best ground in my opinion is spurs and their single tier. Cheap seats are required for our working class fans that have been priced out of even going to a match. When you look at it now it’s not very affordable at all. Season tickets for supporters that are on universal credits or working tax credits. Some of our hardcore supporters are on this. Me included being a working single parent Dad.

My god, imagine watching this side at the old ground and back when Platt lane had wooden seats. The kippax would have been loud as hell and packed to the rafters.

I don’t think you get it !
No one would swap todays success and quality of football we are watching for anything previous however a huge amount of our fan base miss what it was like going to a match back then.
Todays match day experience is utter gash, no other word for it from getting a ticket to getting home utter gash.
The days out in the late 80s and 90s for me will never be matched.
That’s what the fan base is missing !
Most people these days go to watch some 'albeit' good football and fuckoff home. Back then, the football was just an excuse to have a top day out, especially away.

being 60 now i can concur that the away days in the 70s and 80s had some great away days, are most people saying they have not had any great away days in recent years i have.
