Shit team great days

The game after Blackpool was Fulham away which I went to. We took loads to that considering it was a Friday night Sky game. A 3-0 loss later and realisation kicked in that perhaps it wasn’t going to be plain sailing.

We could never quite reel them in, even with that great second half of the season.
Fabulous home win against them in January I think one of the seasons highlights . In the March went to Fulham with a Blackpool supporting mate, they were very impressive, same day we won at Colchester on pay to view . Can't believe it's over twenty years ago.

Played Wimbledon in Croydon in January 99 in the FA cup third round. Selhurst virtually empty apart from 6,000 blues raising the roof. Pissed as a fart remember losing 1 0 I think we had a man sent off and a goal disallowed but no one gave a fuck. Great days indeed.
... the one and only Sir Andrew of Morissonshire.

I have to admit I loved following City to lots of different grounds and it was great fun with mates etc but watching us now is so different.. absolutely wonderful football and going to games expecting to win rather than thinking we are going to get beat again.
More than happy to be watching us now albeit wouldn't mind being in my 20's or 30's again lol

I don’t think you get it !
No one would swap todays success and quality of football we are watching for anything previous however a huge amount of our fan base miss what it was like going to a match back then.
Todays match day experience is utter gash, no other word for it from getting a ticket to getting home utter gash.
The days out in the late 80s and 90s for me will never be matched.
That’s what the fan base is missing !

Was at the Wrexham away game, seem to remember there being only 3 stands, stand to the right was being re built I think, I remember it being absolutely freezing, I was sat on front row of seats above the standers below and the wind blew right through me that day, got back to the Robin Hood in Swinton for pint and some lads saw the program on the bar and went to great lengths to tell me how they used to support City and were now rags, I simply didn’t have any words for them, what the fuck did they expect me say, congratulations!
You can change your house, job, wife and friends but not your team.My old fella would have killed me if i did that.

Nothing is the same, when you are older would like my youth back or even my forties which I was in the Royle era . Think my generation had the best of it following City . The celebrations of promotions play offs etc exceeded anything in the current era . Don't get me wrong love supporting a successful club but miss the mad, bad crazy old days.

Rest assured i do get it..
Simple question do you prefer to watch/go City in the 1990's or 2020 ?

Christ, it wasn't really that long ago.
