Not sure if this has been covered on another thread , but is anyone else frustrated at the lack of long range shots we attempt , we appear to want to walk the ball into the net. The last few games Silva, yaya , aguero, dinho to name a few have had excellent positions to pull the trigger , but they continue to tippy tappy until we eventually get closed down.
My old fella used to say "if you dont buy a ticket you will never win the raffle" it certainly applies to our players.

Yes. Have been saying this for weeks. How many goals in the Prem this weekend were from outside the box? Answer : LOTS. Sick of seeing us score "wonder" goals in training.

Yaya had 4-5 chances to shoot and didn't take them. Instead he passed to Kun or Silva who were inside the box.

This is a problem against teams that park because neither of those players will be able to get through a wall of 8-9 players most of the time.

Said this on another thread, Yaya was once excellent against teams like this but he doesn't have the legs to keep going up and down the pitch anymore to do a defensive role and also help create an attack. He needs to be pushed up in our future games so that his role is of an attacking midfielder.

Put Milner and Dinho behind him and for f*cks sake lose the 4-4-2 mentality. Either that or don't use him.

A long range has always the chance of a deflection , an would be considered a lucky goal , but it completely change the oppositions mentality , when they come to park the bus , perhaps instead of considering ourselves a shade unlucky with recent results , we should make our own luck , and have a pop at goal.

I think we did try a few more last night.

Yaya had two that hit row Z, Fernandinho almost got closer to the corner flag than the goal.

Silva and Nasri both went close with shots from the edge of the box.

Our biggest problem at the moment is the woeful form of Aguero and Dzeko.

Without a shadow of a doubt our worst offender is The Magician.We know he`s scored some fabulous goals from way out but last night,especially in that first half he had 5 opportunities where their defence had backed off and he chose the option of trying a tippy tappy pass into the penalty area.
