Shooting outside the House of Commons

However, none of those acts would change the fabric of society. Where as Terrorism has changed the many things.
Id argue its our own response and security measures that change society. The whole fire is thoroughly stoked by the media too. I'm not for a second belittling those that were affected last week, but the media and politicians tried to make it into 7/7 meets lady di's funeral in terms of public wailing. It seemed that all those beheadings in orange boiler suits stopped once the media seemingly agreed to starve them of publicity? Its a fine line between creating awareness and hysteria.

How do we know that the beheadings have stopped if the media aren't reporting them?

1) There is a world of difference between multiple plots and acts of terror by a group of people with a single aim, following a prescribed dictum and a single incident as in the case of Jo Cox. To consider them in the same light is disingenuous to say the least.

2) There is a world of difference between crime and terrorism. To consider them in the same light is disingenuous to say the least.

3) 3000+ is an outright lie.

Obviously I read my facts wrong on the last one, http://www.drinkdrivingfacts.com/drinkdriving/drink_driving_facts.aspx - still 3000 on average injured or killed every year is not something to ignore. The fact is you are considerably more likely to be killed by a drink driver than a terrorist.

The facts and figures on active cases are presented as though there is a huge growing problem when in reality it accounts for the investigation of a tiny minority of people. Even the London attack was committed by a single person who the Police knew nothing about. The manner of the attack means it could quite literally happen anytime anywhere but it doesn't and that is why I just don't see how it is in any way a big problem, why give these people the air time?

The police officer killed in the Westminster terror attack died from a single stab wound to the chest, despite wearing protective body armour.

An inquest into the deaths of the four victims of the attack has heard how PC Keith Palmer, 48, was killed by Khalid Masood outside Parliament last Wednesday.

Scotland Yard has confirmed the father-of-two was wearing one of the stab vests routinely issued to Metropolitan Police officers, but it was not enough to save him and he died at the scene.

The inquest also heard details of the other victims of the attack, including US tourist Kurt Cochran, who suffered multiple injuries after being hit by the car.

His wife Melissa suffered a broken leg and rib and cuts to her head.

Mum-of-two Aysha Frade, 44, also died on the bridge, suffering head and chest injuries, while Leslie Rhodes, 75, from Clapham, also received head injuries.

He was pronounced dead at London's King's College Hospital the following day.

Security services have prevented 13 potential terror attacks since June 2013, the UK's most senior counter-terrorism police officer has revealed.

Assistant commissioner Mark Rowley also said there were 500 live counter-terror investigations at any time.

He disclosed the figures as he launched an appeal, Action Counters Terrorism, for the public to report suspicions.

Information from the public has helped police in a third of the most high-risk investigations, figures show.

It has also contributed to stopping some of the 13 attacks - a figure one higher than the last update, given in October.

when does it become a big problem ?

The fact is that statistically we are all very much more likely to kill ourselves, be killed by a family member or a drunk driver than a terrorist.

Statistically that may be correct, but it doesn't make terrorism acceptable does it ?

Our security services have prevented many terrorist attacks (possibly 1 future attack today), would you prefer we give that up, and concentrate on preventing suicides, or drink drivers ?
