I think the boss' should make some of the long time members admins to approve threads before they are opened.

I'm sure they would happilly do this as well in order to stop the sh*t being posted.

we do, new posters anyway, you could'nt do every post, just not possible.

You KNOW how all this can be avoided and I don't why you lot are bottling it.

Allow 100 posts before starting a thread. We have enough members now and true fans will stick around, make friends/ have an MO and we can stop all the silliness that goes on.

I've never known a website where people are so bothered by what other posters do before. Personally, if I find a thread that I find boring, annoying, idiotic or just not my cup of tea, I just don't go there. Is there some strange force that compels you to open, to you, obnoxious threads and feel the pain? :-)

i reckon this off topic is a good area,its chilled an it can be a laugh, when i log on i go to upstairs first but just lately i am not really spending much time there at all.
it looks to be full of new song threads,an ban this or that, i look at title an go............no not for me,it must be cos im blooming 53 now an getting on.
Could we have an area for us old fogeys to chunter on about bugger all,an where we can say the new fashion phrase...."back in the day??"

The problem I see with that Bigga, and ive lost count how many times ive seen it, is you get all these little minions coming on with a post count of 5 adding completely unrelated posts to a thread. They cant start new ones, so they just pick on at random and post complete shite on it. That then cues 50 responses telling this person to piss off, and you basically have the same situation you would if they had started a thread on their own.

To be honest, personally I would rather them create new threads that can be binned easier and ignored even easier, instead of gatecrashing and ruining a thread that could be a decent thread with good discussion.

Mark, those clowns could reported easily and those kind of spam posts deleted, thus taking down the 'contribution' count, making it harder for them to reach their goal.

But everyone must play their part to eradicate the Clowns' infiltration, to make it work.

The Adebayor thing has made upstairs a joke over last 3 days, many of the threads that are started are straight from the playground and it prevents good debate on the more intelligent (dont like using that word on an open forum but in this case it feels right) threads, which disappear within 5 mins of being started because some fool wants to be first to show us what another journo has written in the papers which we will all see the next day?? I think 78,000 of Swales lives 80,000 have been journo posts.

Having said all that, this is still a great place to post and it may well need a tweak here and there, but to make any major changes would, i believe, be detriment to an excellent football forum.

Would you rather 2minute wonder, no mark cretins come in and shout down good posters or make them contribute thus making them half decent plus keeping the good ones??
