No. The larger populous can't even control their addiction to cheeseburgers and pizza.

Casual drug use is so rife and easy, you can get a baggie of your favourite substance delivered to your door in less time than you can cheeseburgers and pizza.

My underlying point is - if a person wants it, they're going to get it and with complete ease.

I agree that opening the floodgates and legalising everything isn't the way to go about it, but people that want drugs are always going to source them without any issue, so it's about finding a happy medium where you eliminate the criminal aspect, stop funding gangs, stop the massive waste of police resources and in turn tax it and pump that money back into rehabilitation for those who need it.

Tell you what they wouldn’t do and that’s make as much money as they do now. Anything else the scumbags come up with would be much easier to catch them at these days. The amount of money drug dealing makes them gives them the power to bribe the police and inflict terror on so many vulnerable people.

The other stupid thing about this bullshit war on drugs where the police spend fortunes trying to catch them and have a big parade for the cameras when they seize x amount worth of coke. Is that the amount of drugs supplied in any area never reduces after multiple arrests are made. A new gang moves into said area resulting in a turf war with more violence than previously.

The drugs would still need to be paid for I assume. What if the user doesn't have the money? An addict will have to get the money somehow and criminal activity is likely to follow, just as it does now, I would have thought.
