Should Dzeko start on Sunday?

Wouldn't have him anywhere near the starting line up on Sunday, he was absolutely abysmal last night. If we'd have drawn the came it would have been because he was so atrocious. We were trying to put moves together but almost every time it went to him it broke down. He was a total waste of space and I found myself willing our players not to pass to him because it would inevitably end up in him losing the ball yet again. And in front of goal, oh my lord. Spooned free headers nodded tamely 10 yards wide when free and in space in front of goal, then there was that chance at the start of the second half where he had bags of space and could have set us on our way to easy street but fluffed it. It was a truly woeful performance.

That doesn't mean I think he's a bad player though, far from it. We've seen what he was all about only the other month, but he's very much a confidence player by the looks of things and last night his confidence was completely shot. He wasn't using his size as much and holding people off or putting himself about, which with his lack of pace he needs to do. Far too much of a risk for me for Sunday

He will go with Mario up front on his own, with Yaya as the advanced midfielder. Barry and DeJong holding.
Milner will start. Nasri and Sergio will be on the bench.
Mancini will set us up more defensively.

He would have been the hero had Aguero not snaffled that chance. Dzeko was right next to him and was just sliding in to put it in.
Do you have a point to go with this?

For the record, given his shooting yesterday, he would have no doubt missed had Aguero not been there.

You go and behave. Do not patronize us (Bosnians) who support MCFC at any time. Please lead us to a topics where you criticize Nasri Silva Yaya Balo or tevez (before he made "mistake" in Munich)?

Let me save your time, there is no topic where you dont support MCFC player, pls shut up!

Jasmin calm down sweety there are many posts where Balotelli was been slated infact I think he is the most attacked player on this forum. Only a few others as well as myself have had constant faith in the lad including a certain MOD so dont feel this is some anti Dzeko or Bosnian shit. Milner, half this forum was calling for him to be sold not to mention Lescott if most had their way he wouldnt be here either.

Its the nature of the game when Dzeko scores again he will be loved again but the truth is Balotelli and Aguerro have more natural ability. They are simply better players no National loyalty to should blind you to that fact. So No Dzeko should not start.

I have a theory regarding the hatred against Dzeko. Folks have fallen in love with smaller, athletic, fast players and hold Dzeko's size and pace against him. He is simply a different type of player and you only notice the mistakes he makes because you are looking for him to fail. Aguero lost several posessions tonight where he just had a poor touch and nobody was questioning his ability because he scored. Had Dzeko scored on one of those chances, he would have been hailed a hero and we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Cheers!
You Bosnian's are so funny. No one hates him but when he plays shite, then people aren't so blind as to not see it.

The same goes for every player (it's usually English Barry, Milner and AJ getting slated), it just happens that Dzeko is the only player we have from a small country. Because of his super star status in his home country, BM is now filled with Dzeko fan boys that can only see good in everything he does.

-- Wed Oct 19, 2011 8:57 am --

How fickle are the mob?

Dzeko was poor last night, but so was Silva.

Well if we had a better player than Silva to come in against Utd then I would consider dropping him for the game.

The thread is entitled, "Should Dzeko start" - the answer is no. Not when Balo is on fire.

His confidence looks shot again. Looking back, it probably wasn't the best move to rest him after his four goals.

Said exactly the same last nite, looks shot to bits,am not saying he is finished at City (yet) but a touch like an elephant wont win him many plaudits thats for sure, and if poor form continues,he will be shipped out am afraid

dzeko should of been walking away with the match ball last nite he had that many chances not inclueding the that fact he was next in line to tap in the two goals but at the moment i wouldn't garrentee he'd score them even. his finishing could be forgiven if he's all round game had been better.to answer the op its gotta be a no from me balo is probably playing his best since joining city so i'd go with him
