lost to wigan in the fa cup final
lost to man u in the league by 10 points
and finished bottom of the group in the CL, with Ajax finishing higher yet he still deserves another season

FA Cup finalists
Premier League runners up
Difficult Champions League Group

On the back of:
Premier League champions

It's all about perspective.

absolutely NOT, i hoped this sort of shambles was in the past for our great club, for all this to be allowed to build over last few weeks, then on cup final day for rumours to be relentless has been a disgrace, the PR of the club is a bloody shambles, and once again we're a laughing stock.
roberto has at times been his own worst enemy i admit, but what he has achieved in a short space of time, yes he had money, so did sven and hughes and they didn't come close to a trophy never mind winning the two biggest in this country, roberto is a passionate man and has forgotten more about football than most on this forum will ever know, me included.
at the very least one more season

-- Mon May 13, 2013 8:45 pm --

rabidcity, don't forget best defensive record 3 seasons running, joe hart golden glove three seasons running, 2 horrendous CL groups, joint 2nd 2 seasons ago, 3rd because of goal difference, the statistics are more than impressive and all achieved without intimidating/bullying officials

This time back him in the transfer market.

So please tell me which other manager has had more support in this area?

I think he is referring to the last transfer window eg loss of hazard and rvp when really we would have gone to the next level which is a fair point.

Rvp is not only a great player but seems to be a leader which badly could have done with.

No, But let's face it his departure is looking inevitable.
He's been successful. If he has failed then all the players should surely go too. As well as Marwood. Personally the only one I would bid farewell to would be Marwood.

If we sort our transfer targets early enough and get people in who will do a job rather than the panic buying last year then we will come back stronger. He can't surely be blamed for those purchases.
He's 48. Clearly a good manager. Maybe not perfect but who is? The majority of the 'problems' appear to be the press digging. Lets face it the 'going' rumours have been there every year. He was rumoured to be getting the sack even if we won the Premiership last year. We did, he stayed.
The timing of this story was pathetic. B
He deserves the chance to get back the title.

Beat me to it
We clearly failed to strengthen last summer unlike others around us.
I am not sure if FFP had something to do with the reluctance to make big signings but I think RVP alone would have probably won us (and most importantly not them) the league.
I feel sorry for Mancini as the transfer market debacle is likely to cost him his job and lose the continuity we were about to enjoy.
Gutted.
