I agree with De Niro, after losing out on the title this season, seeing 'The Swamp' filled with blues celebrating as VK lifts the FA Cup aloft in the middle of the pitch would certainly piss on their chips.
Regarding Wembley. The money would have been better invested into new stadiums around the country with ground shares thrown in. Everton/Liverpool, Villa/Birmingham etc and a host of London clubs.
Would have been good to see lots of lower league teams provided with money towards redevelopment or new lower capacity stadiums.
There is/was no need for a national stadium (are England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland the only countries with one?)....If we needed to go down this route then building one in Birmingham would have been much more fan friendly option.
