Should we be looking at new kit deal?- new update pg34 Chelsea NIKE DEAL

I've changed the title of this thread as it was implying we had one, plus it's a kit manufacturer rather than sponsor. To a large degree, these deals depend on shirt sales, as that's how the companies make their money. We're not up there yet but I'm surprised we're so far below PSG & Milan.

Thanks Mate for tweaking the title.

Did a quick google search and found some figures....if we are not in the top 10 wonder what our average annual shirt sales figures are.... http://www.totalsportek.com/football/clubs-with-most-shirt-sales/

I expect this season to finish, hopefully well and then for city to announce the following in fairly quick succession before the Euros:

Manager
Major sponsorship deals inc kit
A new holistic philosophy
Player exits
New players in
That were bigger than the rags

To be honest, I'm sceptical of these flat fee deals. I would have thought that the deals would incorporate all kinds of sliding scales depending on the volume of sales, or even a revenue share / percentage deal between the two.
It would appear that the flat fee is probably simply buying the rights to produce the kit, but I'd have thought more forward thinking clubs would want to construct more complex deals.
I'd also imagine that the shirt sponsor and the manufacturer also have to be in agreement with each other. Probably not an issue in 99% of cases, but could be in some.

A mate of mine knows one of the Nike directors. He's heard they have offered big deals to both us and PSG. No idea if anything has been agreed though.

It sort of amuses me when rags and other KFA's gob off that we only pass FFP because we have unrealistically high valuations on shirt deals supplier and sponsor.
Our deals are currently well under where they would be for other clubs of our size and recent success.
Something tells me that the next set of deals will really give them something to squeal about.
