Should we be worried about Nigel?

Wouldnt make sense to let Nigel leave yet keep Viera on. Viera is probably in his final season with us, so next season after he is gone we will still have De Jong. Cant see us selling tbh

He has been a key part of the Dutch team. The Dutch team are in the final four of the World Cup. Enough said really, not to mention he was one of our best players last season. De Jong doesn't need to be adventurous or creative with the players around him we will have. He will break up play as he does better than most in the world, then pass it to someone who can do something with the ball.

This. He's a good player but he's not a great player. He's fantastic in blood and guts games against good opposition but he doesn't impose himself well enough in games against battlers like Wigans and Boltons. I don't want to see him go, but I could understand the reasons why if he does.

i can't see us selling our best player of last season and best Defensive midfielder at the World Cup, it may have already been mentioned but to keep viera and get rid of big nige would be disasterous

You have to play De Jong in the right midfield. He fits into the Dutch midfield because he's plays with Sneijder who gets forward alot. When he played with Barry none of them got forward so it just left loads of space in the midfield when we were attacking.

He's had an excellent World Cup so far , so other clubs will certainly have noticed him .... and , Like Van Bommel , i thought he was superb in the 2nd half against Brazil a few days back.

But , to create chances , we need to raise our midfield awareness from negativity to creativity , and that could leave one of our 'holding midfielders' feeling the pinch ....

it might happen ... i hope not though , i like his approach to the game!

in truth i'd rather see Gareth Barry leave !
