The defeat by Arsenal seems to have driven some stark staring bonkers.

Anyone spouting such rubbish should be sentenced to watching a team struggling between the second and third tier for two or three years. It might cure them of their Raggish sense of entitlement that has been spewing out everywhere.

I get that and it would be great for the club. I have posted elsewhere that with VAR and Corruption my love for the game is tested to breaking point. Not my love for City though. The main attraction of winning the ECL is the 2 fingers to UEFA and the cabal - shame that a football competition has come down to that.

Like @Marvin said You have to distinguish the politics element from the football. None of us like Fifa and its corruption but we still love the World Cup every four years. We’ve seen some of the best players play for our club and they all want to be in and win Europe’s most prestigious competition. Winning it will elevate our club to another level

Hate this defeatist nonesense. Asterix my arse. The rest of the competition is being played. If you win it you win it and City have as good a team as any left in the competition. If Liverpool can score 4 against Barca last year, with the players they had available, then there's no reason we shouldn't think we can't atleast get to the final.

Whilst I agree with your opinion about the thread, it should be noted we were favourites for the league and the FA Cup too. I.e. bookies odds mean nowt.

Favourite is just a reflection of the money wagered, in this case in the uk. Bet we're not favs in ger or spain.
Our route is tough to say the least.
Juve may be better equipped than us, seeing as how flakey our defence is. We missed our chance when diddled out of it by spurs. We are not as good as we were.

I get that but not for me. Would rank below our titles, Gillingham and even FA cup wins. I would enjoy it but do not feel as invested in it. It is a corrupt cup. Heck, even the CAS verdict had me running rings around my living room and yawping like a pregnant camel. Catching Liverpool nexr season means more.

Even if it is, have you ever asked to throw the domestic cups to enhance our chances of winning the league? That’s what scousers do.

Whatever you think of the CL, we are in it and are trying to win it. We have no other matches to think about, so why wouldn’t we go full out to win it, like we do in all competitions?

City have one foot in the last eight after beating Madrid at home who have won the competition more times recently than any other team. City have the ability to beat any team in Europe & any team who came up against them would be worried.

We are out of the FA cup. Only up side is 1 less game to play. But the EC will be gruelling and, given our draw, very difficult to win. It will take us up to the start of next season with little rest. UEFA will do all they can to stuff us anyway. It will also always have an asterisk - especially if we win it. I am not arsed by it either way. But can see lots of positives to treatingg like pre season friendlies and if we then win it, so be it..
