Should we now go after the papers?

I watched Sky's football show this morning (for the first time - no contest with Ken Bruce). The Liverpudlian guy Stephen, whoever he is, is presumably getting paid for his "contribution" but he was clearly ignorant of the CAS judgement. He said, more or less, that City had been found guilty of breaking the rules but the penalty had been reduced. The anchorman guy, whoever he is, then read out the exact wording of the CAS verdict and you could see an extremely dull light bulb flickering in Stephen Whoever's head that he'd just made an arse of himself. However, I can live with people who are clearly not the sharpest knives in the box, even though paying them seems questionable when they demonstrate a grasp of the subject slightly less than that possessed by the average Fresian cow. What I did find appalling was the Roan piece. I went to the BBC site just to get an impartial view and found Roan's bitter load of bollox.

I usually let journalists' pearls of wisdom wash over me but Roan this morning was an utter disgrace. City are not going to be suing any journalists. But I hope they let the BBC know that they and the club's relationship with them will be severely jeopardised if there is any more of this crap. You would have thought the BBC would have learned from Fergie's 8 year ban on talking to them, but obviously not.

Of course, people like Roan are deeply annoyed that the reams of copy they had prepared about the demise of City have been an utter waste of time. So I suppose we can have a laugh about that at their expense.
Go to De Fund the BBC....

Agreed. The commercial operators are that so just ignore them. However his evidentially inaccurate summary is libellous and he works for the public sector. Still think City are just too noble and cool to bother though.

When the media are properly at the Etihad, offer them the legendary City hospitality they've become used to.

Only, hollow out the sausage rolls, and fill them with dog shit, and ask all the male caterers to add their "special sauce" to the cream cakes on offer. Simple.

It never did Michael Winner any harm, when he was a food critic, and the head chef slightly altered the recipes

We should just make a giant poster and have it put up on Deansgate saying 'Welcome to the Champions League 2020/21' with an image of Dan Roan on it. The prick.

Expired, mouldy Tesco sandwiches and raw eggs. thats all they should enjoy at City.

Don’t give them the oxygen of publicity. Give support to the likes of Martin Samuel and hope that one or two of the others will follow suit.

Even Barney Ronay wrote a positive piece about City. There is hope.

Why not buy the paper he works for and sack him
Alternatively but our own paper
Roan works for the BBC. He has only recently been allowed back on the campus after belatedly apologising for deliberately lying and inventing quotes following an interview with Patrick Viera many years ago.
To my knowledge he is the only journalist we have banned since the takeover.
He has learned absolutely nothing. His malicious and laughably selective, biased analysis of today’s judgement suggests he still bears a grudge and has used up his last chance. Permaban

Now that CAS have come out and said that we are exonerated. Apart from failing fully to comply with what UEFA wanted. Should the board now go after the papers like Der Speigel that said we are guilty of failing FFP and other things. The other is shall we just let it be and call it quits.

For me I would go after the papers and get as much money out of them as we can. After all the more money we can get from them the more money we will have to spend on players. This will then help us with our FFP
Agreed but we have to wait for the full written verdict.

If that does clear us on all counts (compliance apart) produce a club statement to the fact with a warning that any reporter/presenter who continue with the inflated sponsorships/ owner illegal investments prejudice will be sued personally and also the organization they represent.

Time to draw a line in the sand and stand up for our owner and clubs reputation.
