That’s because we offered mega wages at the time compared to what anyone else would have paid them.
If you think no CL football isn’t an issue then that’s pretty bizarre tbh.

Honestly, for you personally it might not be bad but for Manchester City, the manager, the players, the people running the club, the sponsors and a lot of fans, it wouldn’t be good in any way shape or form.
We’d also lose the TV money, prize money, gate receipts and sponsorships would drop as a result of not being in the competition.

To an extent we could attract top players wherever we are but it's so much easier if you have Champions League football. Players want to play in the Premier League but they also want to play in the Champions League. To be honest I think the group stages are rubbish when you are a stop seed - sub Premier League standard. But the latter stages are the highest standard of football there is.

The best we’ve ever done in it was when we were at our worst in the last decade. Could be a sign ;)
Hopefully though Laporte and Sane will be back for the knock outs or at least the quarters. We might need a favourable draw in the last 16 though.

Lie you optimism and undoubtedly Laporte is a huge miss
People should not pin their hopes on SAne though.....by the time he returns he will have a few months left before he gets his move to Bayern - he wont be busting a gut
