Should we raid Bayern Munich??

They are not a selling side

I actually read a post in one of their forums where their fans were nervous because there was a rumor we'd try and buy Kroos.

They was saying things like "I don't know if it's likely, but with our transfer strategy of late it wouldn't surprise me." So I guess they do sell sometimes.

Ballack in 2006 was the last key player they let go. And only because his contract expired.

If you have read the right forum you would have read that the persons even would pay him his ticket or drive him there... ;) - he is not really loved - too arrogant, likes to let others run for him...

Injuries aside, Hargreaves was an important player for them in his time there. I think they would have been happy to keep Lucio as well.

I agree in general though; they're not a club that often needs to sell and players rarely seem to want to leave Bayern, so getting someone from them will be difficult.

i think the real question is can we raid bayern.cause i dont think we can,but we can raid dortmund..............

He's talented though.

This thread is disrespectful to a huge club like Bayern tbh. We cant just buy whoever we want, dont act too cocky mate.

Bayern don't sell their stars. Nor do they need our money; they are very financially stable.

Exactly... Imagine a thread on a Bayern forum "should we raid city? Aguero? Silva? Kompany?" we'd all be screaming what arrogant b******s. Remember where we came from fellas

Yes, but he is the laziest thing on the pitch. And a little arrogant. He was the star of the U17-World Cup in 2007 and since than everybody treated him with too much sugar. He fell through at a lot of the coaches - but Heynckes worked the system around for him at Leverkusen and tried the same at Munich, too. Partly it worked but a lot about the last not sucessfull weeks have to do with trying to push his favourite player to a position that just does not work with such a kind of player and this offense. He is a great passer - but he has less sprints as anybody else on the field and half of the intensive runs a midfielder in any position on the field usually makes. For an offensive midfielder he is just to less dynamic for an 8 or 6 he is too bad in his defensive work.

He is a great prospect - and if he works on his weaknesses he will be a great central midfielder. But he has to start working. If he would he could build a great midfield together with Schweinsteiger - if not he might fall through as Schweinsteiger is the better choice (not only because of his abilities and experience but of his character, too) and his strength (even if he can do his share of defensive work) are best when secured by a more defensive partner.

That is the reason why a lot people are not really satisfied with him. He is so talented but does not really work hard on it. You then see e.g. an Alaba, who is very talented, too - who has such a great workrate and who really works on his deficiencies and seems to improve permanently.

----------

I do not really care about that threat. Doesn't it show the value of the players? The most of them - especially the really good ones - aren't for sale. Robben might try to get the best contract he can but I do not really think he does want to leave at all - just does not look like it.

A lot will depend on who they sign in the summer, shaqiri has already penned a pre contract thingy and will join at the end of the season (possible robben replacement?), marco reus kicking on in the bundesliga aswel, would of thought bayern are already planning a swoop for him aswel, possibly opening up a door for ribery.
As i have already said out of the two its ribery all day long for me, probably cost a bit more but hes worth every penny also is it just me or does he have an air of city about him...

Reus is joining Dortmund but yeah Shaqiri's arrival might make Bayern willing to at least consider a good offer for jelly knees Robben. Given how sparingly we use wingers, Robben might be fit just enough to play those games we need wingers.

Thats a suprise, then again they are the dominant force in germany right now. Thats just it though 'jelly knees' its got disaster written all over it

No, it's not. First - Shaquiri is a talent who has shown in some matches that he might become something somewhen. He is playing in the swiss league (a league you cannot compare to the German) and there he has 5 goals and 3 assists this season in 21 games - that does not sound very special. Robben is a proven world class player.

Bayern's bench is not very strong and they just have 20 field players. Saturday, when Müller, Ribery and Robben went off the field earlier to rest 2 defensive midfielders (one of them can play different roles) and a full back played for them. In earlier parts of the season before Schweinsteiger got injured Alaba would have taken over the left wing - but as he now plays behind Ribery and Lahm switched again to the right this possibility has gone, too.

And there are some contracts running out and will not get prolonged.

So, in short you guys are not selling :)

They wouldn't sell Ribery to Real Madrid, they are a better side than us and a bigger club.

They can pay similar wages to us, why leave?

I was watching them last night absolutley ripping Basel apart; Robben, Ribery, Muller, Gomez, Lahm, Schweinsteiger all standing out for me.

I would have all of those players at City so i was wondering if other blues agreed??

Envisage a Yaya and Schweinsteiger CM partnership; Robben/ Ribery and Lavezzi (Napoli) on the wings, Lahm who for me is the best left back in the at the moment, Muller who was the top goalscorer at the last world cup; is only 22 and right up there in the assists charts since starting for Bayern and Gomez who nearly matched Messi's 5 goal record last night in a CL game, what a striker.

We cant have them all but surely you would like to have a few of them? Just a thought Blues.

Last time we raided Munich, the result was Uwe's grand dad flying over and bombing the stretford end...

Yeah...lets Raid Munich.

Kind of off topic, but when Muller was breaking into the national team at the world cup, wasn't he a winger?

im very confused as to exactly where he plays, as far as i know he started out his career as a poaching sort of striker, then as you say he was used out wide on the right in the world cup, and as of late hes been playing some kind of attacking mid role

Robben just got the best contract ever offered by Bayern as "Rumenigge acknowledged he was a special player who could decide big games on his own...."
