Showsec Block 109 today

De Ja vu....

Same shit, different day.

This was going on years ago when I had a ST in that (109) block.

Myself and many others were threatened with being reported to by these ShowSick Monkeys and thus I simply moved to The SS.
I'm in an area for the past few seasons now and not once have I been asked to sit :)

The lads pictured are just doing their jobs @DannyBoy2890 and they'd much rather not have the hassle.

Yes, you shouldn't have to relocate and it does dampen the atmosphere but if Atmosphere and standing are important to you then I
guess Relocation has to be the option.

I remember saying to one of these jobsworths - "ok, take my seat details, here I'll give you my personal details. Now what?
I'm still standing. "
Written down shit on his paper, some blonde woman came and written down shit whilst looking at me standing up.

Nothing ever happened. they just kept coming up to me and asking me to sit.

My reply: I'm not a fucking dog.

I've worked for a company that employs Showec to do its security and the way they talk about the punters when they aren't in earshot doesn't really portray an image of not wanting to be a ****.

I know a lad that used to work for showsec and he only took the job so he could watch City for free. Not all of them are knobs.

The ShowSec lot are daft but those SEP Events kids outside the stadium are on another Monkey Level.

Stopping fans from crossing the road which crosses the Car Park (even when there are no cars going across???????????

It's safe to cross and they stop you?

I just barge through and walk across. numpties.

Where exactly is 109? Serious question.
I thought there was an unofficial agreement to allow standing in the last two or three blocks of the East Stand lower. But only the blocks round from the corner to the goal line. That meant those in the next block would still be able to see.
The problem is that it's a natural reaction to stand when things get exciting at a game and it's far more likely in the block next to the one where fans stand all game. Part of the problem is that the club gets hassle from the council if too many are allowed to stand.

In 115 we are told to stand up ! Not that I need telling. We only sit down at half time for a rest. In my case that's an age related thing !! Come and join us :-)

He was stood in front of me he was absolutely wasted kept kicking off so he got taken out the first time to calm down , he came back and started being an absolute pollock again they asked him to leave his mate helped them get him out then he attempted to head butt one of the security who was actually helping him up the stairs his mate was embarrassed apologising to everyone

Sounds like a cliche but I think he was a Liverpool fan my mate told me about this, said he seen him at halftime getting a pint an he had a Suarez screensaver then he heard him giving it the big un when getting dragged out saying Liverpool an that so am told anyway.

Then don't pay and don't go. You've really provided an easy solution to your own grievance there. Whether they're simply following instructions is certainly debatable, but it seems to be having such an extreme impact on your enjoyment that maybe it would be less stressful to give the ST up and make way for someone who may have a higher tolerance level?

The problem is the Football Licencing Authority. Years ago our entire row was moved out of the South Stand for a game because of persistent standing. Thing is it's a spectator sport and fans want to stand up. Bring back standing and this problem goes away. Simple.

I'm in 109 and it's the last block down the side of the pitch on the east side. 110/111 are on the corner before the away fans. You must have been at PoB meetings when Peter Fletcher talked about the problem of 109 and standing?

He was happy to overlook it in the South Stand and 110/111 as it didn't impact any other parts of the stadium and anyone who didn't want to stand moved out of those blocks. If people stand in the blocks on the corners and behind the goal, then it doesn't impede the view of any other parts of the stadium but if people are allowed to stand on the blocks down the side, then potentially it does. Fans gravitated to 109 a few seasons ago to be near what was then the singing section in 110 and most of those fans moved to the front of the stand. Prior to that, there was no standing in 109. We're on the back row so not impeding anyone and weren't allowed to stand. People standing at the front forced people to stand behind them and this is when all the trouble started.
