If you are serious, then look at money spent by all those clubs you mention (with the exception of Arsenal) you'll find that all we have done is play "catch up", admittedly quickly, but why shouldn't we be allowed to spend the same as the rest to get there.
They have ALL had £50m per season extra from being in the elite that they organised for themselves (another exception being Chelsea who (like City) weren't able to be there to create their own cartel).
I think you'll fins that Sheik Mansour is in it for the long term, and will build slowly now from these foundations.
Your posts suggest you actually have little understanding of what Mansour is doing with City, and comparing him with Abramovic is well wide of the mark.
Each to their own I guess, blue or not.
Both want to make their teams world beaters and dominate football? What's the big difference. No mate, and to whoever it was above, I'm not talking about handpicking 13 year olds from foreign countries. But players like Nasri, who Wengers team scouted, at age 20, who is a quality player. That is just one example.
Furthermore, your all missing the point, yes the other teams spent big, but they wanted to mix their own talent with a few other quality players, like what baconface did with his golden boys, then he bought the likes of vidic, ferdinand albeit they were expensive. But look at the players City are linked with, Fernando Torres, Steven Gerrard, Cesc Fabregas, Ibrahimovich. Trying to buy a team of world beaters overnight is not how you respectively run a football club, it is disrespectful to try and obtain every clubs star players. Remember when Perez did it a decade ago with Zidane, Figo, ronaldo, Beckham, Carlos etc.? Everyone resented them and hated them, it didn't go to plan either. Now look at us mirroring them a decade later. So don't tell me we aren't going too far, and that the likes of Abramovich, Mansour and Perez aren't ruining football. People on here are arrogant and stupid, and blind as to what the effects of this 'project' will be in the long term. The way teams like Chelsea, Real Madrid and now Man City are going, if more clubs follow suit, football will be destroyed in 10 years time. So try and limit some of the arrogant, and downright ridiculous shit that now plagues these threads every day. I'm more than within my rights to slate what is going on.

You said it yourself, linked with.
As in, papers chatting shite.

Right, but when Mansour says he plans to dominate world football, and mancini says he would be interested in signing torres, gerrard and mascherano himself, that is just papers chatting shite? Or Roberto chatting shite? Adam Johnson is quality and Boateng will hopefully be as well, but the likes of Adebayor? Toure? Just looking to cut a nice paycheck? RSC? Robinho? All poor and overpriced and paid by US. That is proof, anyways lets just stop pissing about, Shrek's playing but hes not 100% lets just look forward to Saturday, see you all at the COMS, if you're real fans.
hello said:Surely if your a bertie as you claim then these thoughts of Mansour ruining football have been festering at your insides since Septemebr 1st 2008, so why is it that you managed to control your over riding emotion to share your foresight with fellow fans for so long?
...and after contoling yourself for so long what brought you to this point of signing up to a bertie forum a week before the derby to warn us of our impending collective doom?

As it stands, hes not fit hasnt trained, but he will play. Fergy will give him the injection again so he will face us like he did in the champs league.
Fergys personal pride is whats a steak here and apart from the 3 points and local bragging rights, he would do anything to try and stop us finishing forth.

Only the arrogance of fellow blues has really pissed me off. When Everton beat us 2-0 a few weeks ago, City fans were singing about buying their club and fucking it up or something like that, do you not think that's a bit far? I'm telling you, the likes of these business tycoons is going to be the end of football as we know it. He cares nothing for the fans, or for football. Only himself. You can't deny that, and that is why people like him have to be kept away from football, anyway, just sit back and watch the gradual implosion of the premier league, clubs riddled with debt, clubs spending recklessly, it's gonna be a mad decade for football

While I'd love for us to ride up on a white horse and play like Barcelona, we aren't at that stage yet. If taking their best player out of the game, who could seriously hurt our chances of finishing 4th gives us a better chance of winning we should do it. And why do you think what I post on here is anything like what the team will do ? just because it would give me great pleasure to see Nige snap Rooney in half doesn't mean its going to happen ! And don't accuse me of not being a 'proper' fan just because you didn't agree with what I said, that's embarrassing in my opinion.
Mate, let's get one thing straight, have some realistic expectations, not playing football like Barcelona 'yet' ? unbelievable, you honestly think we're going to be on Barcelona's level in the conceivable future? I'm sick of what MCFC is becoming, it's a joke, arrogant fans clouded by money, thinking City will run world football in the next 5 years. What about when it was just football? Let's make the top 4 again next season, then I'll consider us well on our way. We're still a long way off the title, and this team we have now still isn't good enough, one more point. Mark my words, Mancini will never lead us to the title, we need a better manager a la Mourinho. Furthermore, I can't condone someone taking pleasure in watching another person's leg snapped by Nige, Rooney's never done anything to you or me personally except play for a rival team.... So what if he'll never play for us. Neither will the majority of footballers.....
We're football fans first and foremost, then City fans. People like Florentino Perez, Roman Abramovich, Sheikh Mansour are a cancer on the beautiful game and don't do any good, they just degrade the game. Trying to buy success will not succeed in the long run, and until we win a trophy it's all worthless, that is what football is about. I hate when people say we have no class and have a small club mentality, but you lot on these forums upset me with some of the crap you come out with, some of you do have a small club mentality just wanting to force your way to the top with masses of cash, we're being branded the Chelsea of the north, it's really too far. I hope the spending is seriously less this summer, we invest in up and coming talented players, and mould a team, not make ludicrous bids for players we'll never get e.g. Fabregas, Ibrahimovich, Torres, Gerrard, Ribery. We don't want another embarassment like the Kaka scenario. We looked like clowns. The sooner Sheikh Mansour stops trying to buy us players, and leaves it down to the scouts to seek out talented players. Only though this system, can we compare ourselves to the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and *gulp* dare I say it Man Utd, Barcelona, Inter Milan, AC, Juve Real Madrid (pre Perez) Bayern etc. Right now, the way we're going, we're just a weak mans Chelsea. And will be for some time. I hope this comes as a wake up to the 'fans' on these boards, who spout utter shit, We're not a 'Small club', we do have 'History', so behave like it!

You sound like the soppy twat in the paper when the news of the takeover first broke out. One of the ones who would rather watch us get beat by York City than win the League because at least the little family club was doing things the 'right' way. Out of all the players you mentioned, how many have we made a bid for ? You mention the Kaka scandal as an embarrassment but it just shows our ambition. We were trying to bring one of worlds best players to OUR club and he chose Real Madrid over us. Hardly an embarrassment as the Press seem to make out. Secondly, all of the clubs you mentioned have also bought in big name players, Barcelona may have lots of Academy players in the first team, as do we, but they have also splashed massive money on Ibrahimovic, Henry, Eto'o and Ronaldinho to name a few, and all the other clubs you mentioned, especially Real and United have more big name signings than youth team products. You need to stop worrying what the so-called football experts think and enjoy what is happening to our club, as this is the bit of luck we have deserved over 34 years. So instead of moaning from your high horse just sit back and enjoy the journey as its not going to be boring.
What concern is any of that to our owners? So West Ham, Stoke etc are skint. Why the fuck would the Sheikh be at all concerned about another Prem club's finances?what chance does it leave to the Stokes, Boltons? West Ham's of the world?
