Fred Eyre mentions in his book Kicked Into Touch that he went to school with a guy called Sidebottom. When he went for a job the interviewer asked him what school he went to and when he told him he said did he know someone there called Sidebottom, and Fred said "Yeah I knew Sidearse". The guy said well I'm MR. SIDEARSE and there's no job here for you.

I paraphrased a bit but that's the gist of it.
