Absolutely ridiculous fee for such a limited player. Like the Steve Daly transfer in modern times.

Something is telling me that he is just not worth wasting the money on.

People seem desperate to sign him/anyone but I just don't see how he would improve our team.

Di Rossi would have been fantastic and improved us as a team but can't see this with Martinez.

If we got De Rossi, I would of been very hopefull on us retaining the title and having ago at the Champions League, even going as far as saying if we had the luck, we could make the final.

Martinez does not justify his buyout clause and in my opinion. never will. Very good player but not at that price. Bilbao even want the buying club to pay the 45% tax aswell don't they? That is why Bayern are pulling out. Ridiculous.

For some strange and sad reason, I really have some hope in still signing De Rossi.

I have not seen much of him at all, but he is very highly rated. How does he compare with say Phil Jones or Rodwell. Similar type players, who can play in a variety of positions as well?
