There's a buyout clause guys. What do we learn from that?
If you don't want the player to turn his back on you halfway through just make the clause ridiculously high. Bilbao's own fault for agreeing to a 40 mil buyout clause.

Look what happened. Some Club who's willing to pay the money came along and the player is willing to leave. Nothing wrong with that. Would have been the same if we had an agreement with Martinez instead of feckin Bayern. Still a little pissed that he chose them over us but I guess they offered him a spot in the starting 11 along Schweinsteiger.

I'm guessing the buyout clause hasn't been officially met, and they want the full price from bayern
 
The buyout clause is between player and Spanish authorities nothing to do with the club. If Bayern have given the player the money so that the player can pay the buyout clause it seems logical that the player is then free to go where he wants. It may be that is why he is in Germany the only matter left is who pays the 45% tax because the player has received the income to get out of the buyout.

This clearly is very difficult for some to understand.

Some people think that every footballer in the world wants to come and play for us......They dont! Thats why we have to pay shit loads of cash to get them!

There was a thread about that Jesus geezer who gets homesick and therefore does not want to leave Seville...There were posts saying he will be ok, Silva can look after him.

If I was a footballer and used to playing in Spain I wouldnt want to live in the UK. You only have to look out of the window to see why!!

We cant sign everyone just because the fans want us to.

German media have been reporting all week. Bayern will pay the full amount. Thing is the clause is somewhat warped. Martinez has to show up at the spanish FA to deposit the money himself. BILD been writing that some Bayern officials will acompany Martinez and hand over a cheque worth the 40 mil. Contract invalidated - Bayern can sign him up. It's that easy. Thing is there could still be some tax issues but it seems Bayern's lawyers cleared the path and said it was safe to do the deal in such a manner.

Usually the current club of the player would just make a deal worth the buyout clause to not make it more complicated than neccessary but Bilbao went to all lengths to prevent that from happening. Credit to them. They did what little they could to prevent the transfer from happening but will have no means to prolong it anymore. Clause met - player leaving - case closed.

So who's still available? Still a few days left to sign some lad who'll improve us at CM. Cheeky bid for Kroos now that Bayern got 6 guys who'll compete for 2 spots? Forget about competing. If fit it's Martinez/Schweinsteiger 100%.

It was me who posted about Jesus navas but I think you got the wrong end of the stick there mate. I was simply saying imo he's better than Walcott. It's hard enough to persuade Londoners to come up here to rainy Manchester. Lavezzi came out and said city and psg made equal bids but he chose Paris because its a better city to live in.
 
Official: Javi Martinez from Athletic Bilbao is a new Bayern Munich's player for 40€M.
