Martinez and Schweinsteger

If Martinez plays midfield, What a fucking side they could have.

Martinez-Schweinsteger
Robben-----Shaqiri-------Ribery
-----------Gomez-------------

Just thinking; is there a limit to how many goals Edin would score in that formation, taking Gomez's place?

And I think they'd rather play Kroos in Shaqiri's position.

They do have a great starting XI and should go a long way in the CL this time again.

If only they had Tevez, Silva, Nasri, Aguero, Yaya & Balotelli the front half of their team would be as good as ours.

Neville knows.

Our team is really good and I don't wish for any other teams bar Real or Barca.
They play with wingers and we play with CAMS so it's incomparable but elsewhere we have better. I rate Yaya over Schweinsteiger, I rate Agero/Tevez/Balotelli over any of their strikers. Dzeko is about equal to Gomez imho. They have a good team but I rate ours better I really do.

Martinez simply isn't all that, he is good yeah but at £37million I shake my head in disapproval. He simply isn't worth such a fee and nor is he likely to ever do. IMHO we should keep NDJ for another year rather and looking again next year without selling NDJ to buy rather than spunking £37mill on a player that is unproven. I'd rather test the water with Liverpools Lucas to be honest. Anybody who think Martinez is better than Lucas really does need questioning.

Surely Lucas and Martinez are different types of players. Martinez is being utilised as a CB, although his best position may be DM. Lucas is not and has not been a CB (correct me if I'm wrong).

Agreed that £37m is too much but he really does look like a future star.

Agree with a previous post about City having better individual players but I feel that Bayern are a better team.

I still think that they can be got at due to there terrible centre backs but Martinez and Schweinsteger retaining possession and protecting the centre backs will help them a lot.

The price isn't £37million and It's actually £31.6million as his buyout clause is 40million euros and in my opinion, A player off Martinez's ability and age, It's a very good price.

If Javi is out of our reach how about Inigo from Real Sociedad:

Inigo - indeed they do when he cracks em from 40/50 yards - we´d just be shouting "shoot" every time he got it - in our box!

Bayern's defense had the least goals in Bundesliga and with Barcelona in the Champions League... Really shit defending. They do not let the normal things in - but they are always good for concentration laps - maybe because they are so young.

The problem Bayern faces right now - they are clear with the player, clear that they would pay the 40 millions of the buyout clause - that it is not only the problem of the buyout clause but additional taxes that could cost additional 8 to maybe even 30 million Euros... - if it is drawn. And the tax laws seem to have some holes in it. (like that the taxes would apply even if until now the spanish tax agency never has taken it before...) So it is lawyer's etc. looking really close in any loopholes...

It could go easier if the bask president would go into negotiations. But he has an election coming and that is why he plays like this...

This might save a huge problem between manager and the board. Fantastic long term investment and a player the manager wants.
