Oh, any sort of handball is an instant yellow in Spain even if not deliberate... mad rule but the referees are consistent with it.

Though Martinez was the target of this gesture, it was probably intended for many, many more people.

of course not many people can say they have the medal, but Martinez bragging about him having a World Cup medal is like Owen Hargreaves saying he has a '10-'11 winners medal.

Saying that Hargreaves contributed the same amount to United winning the title last year that Martinez did to help Spain win the World Cup.

point remains the same. Martinez was 20th man in the squad and Ronaldo is the best player in the world.

Martinez would be a great signing and offer Mancini both defensive and midfield cover. Strength, tackling, vision and passing. The guy offers so much to us as we look to keep on improving.

Has he said anywhere that he wants to leave Bilbao?

Pathetic from Martinez. He contributed about as much as Ronaldo to Spain winning the world cup. He just sounds like a petulant bitter idiot.

Our own fault if we miss out on targets, we have the resources and appeal now. But KICKER isn't gospel, he might not go to Bayern yet. Martinez was hyped as our #1 summer target earlier this year in the papers, it's all gone quiet though.
 
He's a quality footballer but I wouldn't mind the other Javi from Benfica, can play cm and cb like Martinez, anyone know his surname?
