There's a positive to everything despite however good he is, nasri and jovetic might get regular game time.

I do wonder if he slows down the game for us. Ok, he's everywhere, always open. But I wouldn't mind seeing how different we might be without him.

he does far more than you know, for a start he takes around 3 players off all the other players.

Yea he takes players with him opening up space for others. Great wee player lovely to watch. Some balls he plays you wudnt think of doing

David Silva has followed Isco in leaving Spain’s training camp ahead of Tuesday’s friendly with Chile, through injury.

The Manchester City man has been released back to his club, upon returning with La Roja to Madrid after Friday’s 2-0 win over Finland in Helsinki.

The Spanish Football Federation report that the player suffered slight discomfort upon taking part in Sunday evening’s training session in the Spanish capital.

Immediately advised to stop training, the player underwent an MRI scan which revealed a ‘slight hamstring injury’.

Club doctors have decided not to risk Silva for Tuesday’s match in Geneva against Chile and so have released the player back to his club.

Silva follows Isco as dropping out of Spain’s preparations for this week’s friendly, after the Real Madrid man yesterday returned to his club side, still struggling with an ankle injury picked up last week.

Indications in training at Las Rozas have been that Vicente del Bosque is planning a number of changes to La Roja’s starting XI.

how long it could be?
maybe he's not available for stoke and viktoria but i think he could available for derby

Not too worried about missing him for stoke and the European game.

Would give Nasri and Jovetic a bit of time to get going.

I can't even read this whole thread without wincing.

People saying Silva missing might be a good thing?

Of course it isn't a fucking good thing. He's our most dangerous player.

-- Mon Sep 09, 2013 11:12 am --

I can't even read this whole thread without wincing.

We've got the squad to cope with an injury like this. I would expect that Nasri/Jovetic would be ready to step up - not to mention the possibility of Yaya being pushed forward into a more attacking role.

Far less problematic for me than the injury to Vinny has been.

Actually there's a point in there. It might help the manager with his current problem of trying to shoehorn all our attacking players in.

-- Mon Sep 09, 2013 11:17 am --

Untwist Knickers Everybody. He might not even be missing for stoke, or am I reading it too optimistically? Lots of emphasis on the "precautionary" and "up coming friendly" in that article. Could be that he just gets an extra couple of days rest.

Agreed I was starting to doubt my own senses reading some of the shit stated here.

Shocking. Have they actually watched a City match during the last three years? Along with Kompany our most important player by a long stretch. City with and City without Silva are two very different beasts.
