To yours and SWPBs mind they might be

But to the players they are not. They wouldnt bother if they didnt think it was the pinnacle and obviously they do.
I don't know where you get that idea from. There are frequent examoles of players retiring from international duty to protect their club careers and also players and managers objecting to call-ups for U21s etc. Going off topic perhaps!

Back on topic Silva went to play for his country, the best team on the planet because he is one of the best players on the best team on the planet.

Silva got injured playing for the best team on the planet because its his ambition to play for the best team on the planet as much as he can.

He could have stubbed his toe getting out of the bath and be out for a month, instead he got injured playing for the best team on the planet.

If you really believe these players dont want to play for there countries before there clubs you are naive. The club enables there ambition to represent there country.

Its a simple notion, the prospect of representing there country drives more footballers than not. Adam Johnsons reason for moving as he stated was the lack of opportunity he was given to prove his credentials to represent his country.

Just watched this, looked a bit innocuous.

A minute or so earlier he sprinted down the touchline. Perhaps he felt something and thought he could run it off.

Hope it's just a precaution. If not, at least Nasri should be fresh.

He had a precautionary scan after the Belarus match so maybe he felt the same injury and signalled to come off right away, better than staying on and aggravating it at least.

It is a blow as he was coming back into form but we should have cover to cope with Silva's injury.

I heard he's had to have foot transplants. Apparently Ricky Holden has donated his right foot and Gerry Creaney has donated his left.

On a more serious note, let us all hope that he will be back before Christmas.

-- Wed Oct 17, 2012 9:56 am --

According to Eurosport, Sergio Aguero played in midfield for Argentina last night. There could be our solution with Tevez and Dzeko/Mario upfront.

If he broke a fingernail Lionheart would have on the sidelines for at least 4 weeks.

If its a hamstring strain as most are suggesting he should be ok for Swansea.

If its a tear he should be ok Villa depending on the grade of tear and wear the tear is.

Given he was holding his ankle if it is the hamstring it was low down and thats good if it can be called good as such.

Either way I am sure he will be back well before Christmas Lionheart if its hamstring or ankle ligament related.

You people who "hate" international football forget one thing, the players would rather play for there country than there club. I see nothing wrong with that, its shows they have ambition and because they have that ambition they will perform better for the clubs to ensure they get picked.

Moaning about injuries is nonsense, a player can get injured at any time, they dont get injured because they are internationals, they get injured because they are footballers.

International football can be fantastic to watch but it comes down to witch qualification league your watching. for example The eu qualis are awful cuz they play versus mino nations that are fukin awful. But the South American Qualifiers are fantastic to watch esp the Argentina games and all the teams have genuine quality and due to only 2 teams being able to qualify its a cut throat competition.

hope its not too bad, sounds like a hammy, lets hope its just a pull and nothing more.
we can push yaya further forward saturday now

He was holding his lower right leg which could possibly be a calf strain. If thats the case then your looking at 10 - 14 days out
