Silva Interview in Marca

Strange that Silva was criticised for his 'life style', he certainly doesn't seem to be the party animal that you may sometimes accuse AJ of being. No one ever seems to see him out and about in town do they?
Of course he parties... Going out and enjoying yourself doesn't mean you have a "problematic lifestyle."

Hi, i am spanish, and of course a big of fan of Silva...before Silva arrived to Manchester, in that summer there was interest from him, Florentino Perez started to negociate for him with Valencia. The year before was problems between Valencia and madrid in Villa negociation. Valencia asked too much money and the deal was broken in the last minute, therefore Florentino was a bit upset with Valencia and didn´t agree to pay so much for Silva (big mistake). in the other hand, Mourinho(who i don´t like since he "helps" his agent players) didn´t want Silva and paid 30mill for Coentrao , a Jorge Mendes player. When the negociation was broken there were rumours (Silva talked about that in the interview) that Madrid said no since Silva likes too much "la fiesta" and his behaviour is not the best. Probably (I wouldn´t say 100%no) this is not true and was launched to the press to not blame Mourinho...
This summer probably Mourinho will leave, the next year there are elections in Madrid and Florentino needs a big name. He is the number 1 choice for Madrid fans and probably Marca and As will keep this growing during the summer and I am sure that Madrid will make a very strong offer this summer, doesn´t matter if there is new contract or not. By the way...if you listen Agüero name rumours...rubbish..Van Persie has already a deal with Madrid, so i don´t think that they will talk about that..Regards and good luck for the rest of season

And which bankrupt Spanish bank will lend RM the money? I don't think Frankfurt would allow it somehow do you?

Fair do's. I hadn't seen those.

Make him highest earner at the club,
End of the day he is the most important player for us and he is getting better and better.

We need to keep him.

THE CITY PLAYER REVIEWS CURRENT ISSUES

Silva: "There was interest from Madrid for me and then they wanted to cover it"
He spoke in interview for first recordings of Radio MARCA y Onda Cero

He believes that Torres will return to show his best form.

28/02/12 - 00:15.

David Jimenez Silva reviewed the great time he is having living in England before the interviews of the recordings of Onda Cero and Radio Marca. The canary is key to their club, he hopes to have an important role in the national team and did not hide his frustration at remembering the "signing" for Real Madrid and analyzes the drought of Fernando Torres at Chelsea.

The former Valencian said he left Spain because "neither Barcelona nor Madrid made attempts, City made the movement and that´s why I'm here. I went where I was wanted," recalling that "I was very happy in Valencia and with the circumstances I had to go. City were the strongest bet for me and I made the right decision. Everything has gone very well, "adding that" I am very happy in England, I have two year contract and I want to complete it. Right now I do not want to return (to Spain), I'm happy, people treat me great and I hope to get more enjoyment. "In addition, the Spanish international admits that "Mancini has total confidence in me, that's very important for a player and I'm very happy, teammates are adapting to my game and that's very good for me. There, football is enjoyed to the fullest. "

Perfectly settled in Manchester, Silva looked back and reviewed the possibility that others thought he could have gone to Real Madrid, noting that "if Real Madrid did not want to sign me I don`t know where these rumours came from. I didn`t want it, they tried to take me ... I have a very clear conscience and I've always been a professional. That case did not upset me, but it surprised me a lot. They had an interest and then tried to cover that. I was surprised and more than here. I am very calm and very happy I made the decision I made."

Another issue that has been settled for the Canarian City player is his problem with Del Bosque, the player of the City states that "(it) was settled for me at the moment he changed my role because i was almost always playing and not playing. I was training at 100%, but other teammates also deserved to play. I just said my role was going to be a support player. My dealings with Del Bosque are the same. I do not think it changed at all. No disrespect to anyone. I just said what I thought. "

Within the national team, Silva is one of the betterplaced to know the status of Torres as he plays in the same league. The Arguineguin did not hesitate to say that "El Niño is a great player and has given much to the national team. Maybe he is not having good time, but he will be back before long and will bring many things. For certain, he is not having fun, but he is very strong and it is safe that he will back to his best. "

In "The Red" (the national team), one of the principle protagonists that has given so much help to Silva was Luis Aragones, the technician "very important to me. It was he who brought me into the national team and from the beginning I became a starter. He gave me a lot of confidence and I have always in mind he opened the road a lot for me in football. "

Returning to City, Silva did not miss the opportunity to speak well of his teammate Balotelli, revealing that "every day you spend with him and he is a very good boy. For his age and the way he is, sometimes he is a bit loopy, but he is a great teammate."

Finally, he does not hesitate to say that his club will fight for the highest possible goals, recognizing that "both Madrid and Barcelona have been working together for a long time. Barcelona have won many titles and Madrid has long been with the same build. Us, we are getting there and if not next year, soon we will be fighting for the Champions "

David Silva: I want to stay at Manchester City for at least two more years
Stuart Brennan
February 29, 2012

Manchester City's David Silva David Silva has told City he will stay at the club for at least another two years. And the Blues are already planning to tie down their brilliant midfielder for longer by making him their highest earner and offering him a two-year extension to his current deal, which expires in 2014. Silva, favourite to win both player of the year awards this season, is currently on international duty with Spain for tonight’s friendly international against Venezuela. But he says he is perfectly happy in Manchester and will at least see out the £160,000-a-week, four-year contract he signed when he joined the Blues in the summer of 2010. “I am very happy in England, I have two years on my contract and I want to complete it,” he said. “Right now I do not want to return to Spain. I’m happy, people treat me great and I hope to get more enjoyment. “In addition, Mancini has total confidence in me. That’s important for a player and I’m happy, team-mates are adapting to my game and that’s also very good for me. In England, football is enjoyed to the fullest.” City pulled off quite a coup in landing Silva, who had been watched by Barcelona, Real Madrid and United among other top European clubs before City swooped with a £23million offer. Positive Madrid had been reported to be in the running but made no positive moves – they also rejected him as a youngster, believing he was too small to make it at the top. Silva proved them wrong by becoming one of the top players in La Liga with Valencia and City moved in when the Spanish club hit financial trouble and made it plain they needed to sell to survive. Carlos Tevez returns in a Manchester City shirt after five months - but he’ll have to work for a first-team chance Joleon Lescott called into England squad “Neither Barcelona nor Madrid made attempts, City made the movement and that’s why I’m here – I went where I was wanted,” said the 25-year-old. “I was very happy in Valencia and in the circumstances I had to go. City were the strongest bet for me and I made the right decision. Everything has gone well. “Real Madrid did not want to sign me – I don’t know where these rumours came from. I have a very clear conscience and I’ve always been a professional. That case did not upset me but it surprised me a lot. “They had an interest and then tried to cover that. I was surprised but I am calm and happy I made the decision I made.” Silva also revealed that he loves the ‘loopy’ Mario Balotelli, saying: “I spend every day with him and he is a very good boy. For his age and the way he is, sometimes he is a bit loopy, but he is a great team-mate.”
