or you know something i don't know ?

I know nothing......but I see that in those four we have Tevez goals, front running and defending from the top. Team captain. If he's fit - he starts.

Dzeko will give us a presence in the box, someone to take the midfiled pressure away, hold the ball up, consolidate possession when we steal/clear the ball.

Silva is the creative genius. If he's fit he starts.

Balo will start on the bench for a number of reasons:-
1) He cannot hold the ball up as well as Dzeko so cannot fill that role.
2) We will need an extra man in the middle that we could afford to forgo last night. Fulham will not be the pushovers that Aris were.
3) He is not totally upto speed yet since the lay off.
4) He is not on footballing form. His body language is not quite right. He should have squared the ball for Dzeko's hatrick last night but choose to shoot. Fine if it goes in- it hit the post and the opposition lived on for another twenty minutes before the final nail.

Bluemoon is a very lucky place. you never lack the consulence of some expert psychologist.

the day when people will stop watching players and manager facial expressions and body language will always be too late.

to be blunt...

most average defences are going to cr*p themselves when they see a team sheet with those 4 names as the attack they are facing.

Aris looked like rabbits caught in headlights for the first 20 mins last night, and i don't blame them.

No-one is suggesting that front-loading the attacking options will work against stonger teams, but vs Wigan + West Ham it puts the opposition on the back foot straight away.

Exactly. Super Mario is the X-Factor. Allowing others such as Dzeko to be liberated from opponents focussing on him the lone striker. See Dzeko 2nd goal with only one defender covering him only initially. Now our opponents (CBs especially) are spread out covering our offensive threat.

The thing is that when we counterattacked we have the quality & creative spark. We don't stutter & we have more options upfront.

Against Fulham we have to come on strong in the 1st 20 mins.
No half measure or being tentative.
We must take the initiative. Carpe diem and crap on them forwith.

Mario makes the difference for Dzeko to be liberated. As the thread say Silva+Tevez+Dzeko+Balo..

We cannot let Fulham settle down & dictate a slow pace.

As long as Tevez set in the service of the team, it will work.

That New Setup means, not many balls will be won by Dzeko & Ballo, so the Opps are going deeper, which means more Work for Barry&DeJong/Yaya.

At this Point, big respect to Barrys Performance against Aris, he fits double-space, for him&Silva, who really has to be work on his Defence attitues. Im remember an Adam Johnson who was really good at the defence.

And thats the whole notion of having Tevez as the Captain leading the team not only in scoring but also in defending, creating and ensuring all our cylinders (especially Dzeko, Mario) are firing..

We may do good with Tevez leading the league in scoring by being the lone striker. But it won't enable City to win titles or trophies if the rest are not firing too. To wit our performance at the Derby.

It is a new construction for us! We have seen it is working!
But the next game against Fullham is a whole new ballgame! They have a very difficult way of defending, and I wonder will it work against Fullham too?

It'd be nice to see it against Fulham, and we may well see it given the limited options we have at the moment thanks to injuries. I think Dzeko's work rate has already improved since he has been here and he worked his socks off defensively on Thursday night. I think the key to this formation though is De Jong. The boss expressed his concern about us without the ball on Thursday and De Jong is relentless in his pursuit of the ball. Even against West Brom the other week we struggled a bit in the second half when they had far too much of the ball because there was no one there to win it back. What was good to see on Thursday is that we took the 'Barcelona approach' and defended from the front, closing down the Aris players rapidly. Too often this season it has been frustrating that we have let technically inferior sides knock the ball around easily, and if we close them down they simply will not be able to cope.

His body language isn't right. I thought that was obvious to everyone?

Who gives a shit about body language in footballers? Jesus I can't believe how bloody uptight and calculated football has become :(
Socrates was one of the most brilliant players ever - he smoked and drank and supported very radical socialist movements when Brazil had a military rule!
Garrincha had a bloody defect spine and a messed up right foot - he was still amazing so who cares?
Zidane headbutted a player in a WC final - who cares he was bloody superb.
Maradona was(is) a drug-addicted loony but he was just amazing.
Inzaghi is surely the laziest most uninterested-looking player ever - yet he's score an absolute incredible amount of goals (for decades)...

Honestly when did football turn into this personality-free sterilised machine?
Would you like all footballers to have no flair or personality? All saying the exact same scripted thing and being exactly the same on the pitch?
