Silva+Tevez+Dzeko+Balo...

we don,t score many long ball goals, so i was pleased to see the variation, if i was a defender in the the top four i would be worried about facing tev ballo dzeko and silva, i think it would probably put the opposition into offensive mode, if city could just speed up when they break out, i can see a lot of goals coming?

This formation is where we need to be in the future. Yaya at the back looked better to me as did Barry playing alongside. Coupled with full backs who can get forward and cross a ball. The defence need to stand up and be counted and they looked the part last night. Result we scored 3 goals and didn't even look like conceding.

You cant eat your cake and have it.. As many saw tonight we were awful at keeping the ball but on the other hand our counters and attacks was pretty sexy..

Mancini may only do this again if we have a do or die match..

I think we will go with Tevez upfront alone on Sunday?? Since Dzeko played a full game?

errr....couln't disagree more.

1) We held the ball with ease last night.

2) He is even less likely to start this team in a do or die match.

3) We start with all but Balotelli on Sunday.

to be blunt...

most average defences are going to cr*p themselves when they see a team sheet with those 4 names as the attack they are facing.

Aris looked like rabbits caught in headlights for the first 20 mins last night, and i don't blame them.

No-one is suggesting that front-loading the attacking options will work against stonger teams, but vs Wigan + West Ham it puts the opposition on the back foot straight away.

Exactly. Super Mario is the X-Factor. Allowing others such as Dzeko to be liberated from opponents focussing on him the lone striker. See Dzeko 2nd goal with only one defender covering him only initially. Now our opponents (CBs especially) are spread out covering our offensive threat.

The thing is that when we counterattacked we have the quality & creative spark. We don't stutter & we have more options upfront.

-- Fri Feb 25, 2011 5:03 pm --

Against Fulham we have to come on strong in the 1st 20 mins.
No half measure or being tentative.
We must take the initiative. Carpe diem and crap on them forwith.
