I guess nobody is truly irreplaceable but Big Dave comes close.

Agreed, he's a great player and ideally I'd want him to stay for at least the next 3-5 years. No idea who could replace him, perhaps Mata but he'd be far to expensive.

Mesut Özil. Easily replace him, probably an improvement if I'm honest. About as likely as Wigan winning the league, Silva plus cash in a swap deal, now were talking ;)
Well I'm glad your not manager.

He is the greatest (modern day) footballer that has ever pulled on a blue shirt, he deserves to be £500,000 a week. Why can't we just give him a pay rise, we're nothing without him.

There isn't much in it between them, with Özil being only 23 I can certainly see him becoming the greater player.

I would be very disappointed with this.

Silva is a world class player and key to your team. There are a few players who could replace him Gotze and Canales are two players that would be available. If Ganso gets over his recovery he is another possible candidate. I don't get to watch Barcelona, but they probably have a couple of youngsters too. Then of course there are the obvious examples, but are already at top clubs: Mata, Ozil, to a lesser extent Kagawa.

Ozil is definitely in the same league as Silva. If I was forced to choose would pick Ozil, the three years young is the defining factor for me.
