They were/are magnificent. Was lucky enough to see them live in 2004. OK, Art's voice had "gone" a bit and Paul insisted on doing a strange attention seeking pirouette performance during "Bridge..." but the idiosyncrasies of their over 50 year partnership merely intrigue me and make me want to laugh.

They were probably the finest of their generation. Their music and Paul's songwriting stand the test of time imo.

My Aunt is 61 and finally got to see one of her hero's in the flesh last week, for the first time. Paul McCartney in Cardiff.

I think I got the better deal.;-)

Right clever sod he is, bloody genius with words.

Good to see him enjoying himself too.

I had 'Parsley Sage Rosemary and Thyme' on 12"

That was a bloody long time ago

I'll tell you, it was inbetween Led Zeppelin II and Echo's by Floyd

It didn't get played much as a result..!

Ah good, no worries. ;-)

To be fair, I grew up listening to Elvis, Everly Brothers, Eddie Cochran, Fats Domino, Buddy Holly and Rolling Stones in the main. Primarily because the older siblings left them behind when they got married. Loved all those 45's...used to dance and sing to them from being about 6. I didn't discover Paul Simon until we moved in with the eldest daughter when she got married and she bought the album "Bridge......"

Loved Simon and Garfunkel ever since (think I was about 10 when I first heard them).

Bridge over troubled waters ... Mrs Robinson ....... great songs of their day ..... and they did many more.

Also like Paul Simons 'Mother and child reunion'.

"You can call me Al" was playing in the room when my lad was born so we did. Also my dad's name so too many coincidences not to run with it.
