Manchester United & Manchester City go to war as Palermo reveal both have made bids for Simon Kjaer
Palermo tell Premier League clubs to make a better offer...

Simon Kjaer
Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has confirmed Manchester United and Manchester City have made offers for Simon Kjaer, but neither have been enough to capture the defender.

Kjaer has been linked with a move to the Premier League with both Manchester-based clubs leading the charge, while Arsenal and Liverpool remain on standby.

Palermo have always said they are in no rush to sell the Denmark international, who is at the World Cup and has a deal in Sicily which expires in 2013.

Zamparini has been frank with clubs keen on landing the centre-back, telling them to raise the stakes further.

"I have had requests for Kjaer from Manchester City and United, but there are still differences between what we want and what they are offering," Zamparini told the press after a Serie A club presidents' meeting at the Lega Calcio in Milan.

Not really seen him play but from what people say he's a quality player. Blow the rags out the water just to fuck Whiskey Nose off.

sometimes offering teh most doesnt guarantee the player will come...

City offered 90+m for Kaka and then he left for RM for £56m...

True Bumbles. But surely all you can do from City's perspective is sell them the ambition / vision of where we want the club to be, that we're in Europa League next season and narrowly missed out last season by 3 points etc and then drop in "Oh, and here's a wad of cash for you aswell".

I don't think United will have the same pulling power in the next few seasons, both financially and in terms of lack of investment in the team and not being able to replace players who desperately need to be. It'll cause an inevitable fall from grace, where as City have the sustainability to dominate the premiership in years to come.

If we could sell him that idea, then surely he'd give the automatic choice of short-term success with the rags for long-term success with the blues.

well thats one scenerio...but a lot can happen in the timescale you describe..ifs and buts only go so far...

City's name used in lame bid to drive up price shocker.

Quite possible kinky and it's been done plenty times before, however he does fit the profile the club are looking for, young, very talented etc i'd take tbh.

True, lazy post by me... bored and nowt's happening in the wacky world of football :)

Agreed. God, a rag who can hold a footballing conversation without reducing to 35 years, whatever next...? =P

We'll see what happens. He'd be a good replacement for both Touré and Ferdinand, the latter turning into Mr. Demic!
