Not sure , even very successful business men can make mistakes
How about because it’s more lucrative, stops us potentially being left behind and breaks UEFA’s corrupt stranglehold on European football.
All this wailing and crying by fans before any real details have been revealed is ridiculous. As things stand we might possibly have a few more euro games than we would’ve had in the expanded CL. Nothing else is set to change, we are still fully committed to fulfilling the domestic program.
My dream when the sheikh bought City was that maybe finally I would see us win the FA Cup and the League not that we would be admitted to a euro super league i.e the CL.While I agree with all the positives, all the positives are outweighed by the fact every other English club is left behind as the founders are guaranteed being in the superleague. It just destroys the domestic competition. If there is no hope of joining the elite all other teams will wither and die.
except the only way to compete with the top six is a a massive cash injection. My dream when the sheikh bought City was that maybe finally I would see us win the FA Cup and the League not that we would be admitted to a euro super league i.e the CL.
If I were an Everton or Newcastle fan dreaming of recapturing past glories, this latest tweak to the European system doesn’t kill those dreams. Picture the scene - Newcastle have to win their last home league game to clinch their first title in aeons, do you really think a hysterical St James Pk will be any less hysterical because a win wouldn’t qualify them for the super league ? Nobody will give a fuck.
