2 points a game....
over two goals a game.....
Pretty good hit on 4th
Far superior to Spuds in points and GD

Better than Liverpool, and Villa in points ad GD

No worse than Everton on points
better Goals than Everton....

I think we are improving and getting stronger as the season progresses.

I can see the positives, but like I said in an earlier thread, stats can tell you anything you want to read.
All that's happened is Tevez started scoring loads of goals that won us games, what are we stronger at??? the zonal marking doesn't work because half the defence ignores it & we got beat at home 2-0 by everton because the tactics were shite.
Tevez is scoring loads of goals that's it.......Ade has hit form aswell & Johnson has done pretty well.
Bellers & the players may yet fire us into the champs league but as said on an earlier thread it's the players that are shite so it's the players that are responsible if we do it.

Here we go the zonal marking shite again. How many goals have we conceded from set pieces since we started using Zonal Marking compared to man marking under Hughes?

Whether you like to hear it or not, that "italian twat" has improved us alot and made us a better side.

All valid points from an alternative viewpoint.

I think we are doing very well and playing well.... Fulham away, Chelsea away... even Sunderland away. Agreed the Everton result was disappointing but we aint going to win them all.

Burnley (whilst theyre shite still had to be beaten and I think we have given them their biggest beating of the season.

Yes the players are responsible but I think it would be naieve to think the Manager had no part to play in the victories, the same way as you are suggesting he is in part responsible for the home defeat by Everton.

We have the best manager we've had at the club since Mercer IMO. Early days I know but his experience and pedigree and results are what make me feel this way.

You are a waste of time, totally clueless.
Seriously i've explained & TRIED to explain but you have no idea whatsoever other than what you want to see.
He has NOT improved us & made us a better side, tell me ONE player that he's improved in our team go on stat man tell me one player he's imprproved ??
Tevez has got fit & started scoring loads of goals & we are not a bad side anyway we never have been.

I think thats a tad harsh.

He has us playing as more of a unit rather than 11 individuals.

We score more goals, we conceed less.

We get more points.

All of which I personally see as positives. Tevez was away for a number of games (4 of 15 I think) but we are still performing.

PMSL and you had the balls to call me clueless. Listen to yourself. As for telling you one player he has improved in the team i will give you 4, the whole back four whoever is playing. We don't look the quivering wreck whenever Kevin McDonald and Steve Fletcher got the ball as we did in the first half of the season.

You keep banging on about the zonal marking though and convincing yourself that Hughes was a great manager and we are 4th now because of him, meanwhile i will continue to laugh.

Well if you want to throw in Kompany as an example, then hes one player who has definately helped the team at the back !!
Very good midfielder, but he`s been superb in the heart of the defence and looks class !!!

How would you explain the vastly improved defence?

Way to many games at the minute we put in a shite half, but i'll tell you something, like Hughes before him he has been stiffed with the injuries to bridge & lescott & i just wish one of our managers would put Ned at LB just once.
Did you notice before the heavens open sylvinio start playing the recieve turn find a man take the ball back spin pass it forward Barca style stuff ? tevez & bellers latched onto it straight away.
I'd have loved to have had him at City yrs ago & if we can keep him as a coach that would be great.
As for the manager it's not that i don't rate/like him it's just that the powers that be may already have plotted the poor fuckers downfall like they did with Hughes,so no way am i getting attached to a manager again.

If your not going to get attatched to a manager then don't start making up shit to portray him as not very good.

You don't have to get attached to the manager to give him some credit which you seem extremely reluctant to do. For you to say Mancini has not improved us at all is ridiculous if were being honest. Kolo toure who under Mark Hughes was a liability at times has played very well recently and the defensive side of our play under Mancini has been much improved no matter what four we've got playing

Pastaman,have I read his name correctly !!
I could have sworn he`s called ""bluewanc"
What a sad person to call himself a blue fan.NEGATIVE,NEGATIVE all the time.
Pity really !!
His Mum wanted a boy you know !!!!!

I think we've gone through a few different phases since Mancini took over.

The first few games we still had the attacking flair we had under Hughes but were a bit more solid defensively, plus we didn't have the most difficult of games until Everton, where he set us up in too attacking a formation.

Then he went more defensive and we've been unconvincing at home but much better away since Hull.

Hopefully Saturday marked another turning point where we're going to get stuck into teams instead of sitting back too deep and not challenging in midfield. We could rip any team apart playing like we did against Burnley.

How would you explain the vastly improved defence?
You mean the vast improvement of Shay since he took over or the fact that lescott & bridge came back from long term injury OR the FACT our defence have started to ignore his zone marking bullshit.
Or perhaps Kompany coming back from injury & Ade being a huge asset in defence as he was before his first ban.
Loads & loads of reasons......infact i could write a full page of stuff like that.
BUT the main reason could just be down to the ball or the striker of it being shit & rather than going in the net or to a foot it does niether.
Let's not forget the last decent team we played were everton & look what happened to our defence that day.
It can take well over a season for a defence to gel & if he decides to bring zonal marking back with a bang in pre-season it could take yrs.
So have we improved or just had a bit of luck along the way.
Hows that.
ps.don't you fuckin dare post a cryptic riddle,i've given you a good answer & an honest football one.

Lescott was injured against bolton, so hughes had him for most games.

That moving about at speed was awesome to watch, sylvinio was loving getting forward recieving the ball making a turn & finding players going forward.
A joy to watch.
