Since Mancini took over

You mean the vast improvement of Shay since he took over or the fact that lescott & bridge came back from long term injury OR the FACT our defence have started to ignore his zone marking bullshit.
Or perhaps Kompany coming back from injury & Ade being a huge asset in defence as he was before his first ban.

I wouldn't have said Shay has vastly improved, in fact his worst run of form came in January/February.

Lescott has played 7 matches under Mancini. He played 18 under the former manager. Bridge has played 7 matches under Mancini. He played 17 under the former manager. One of the most positive things about Mancini for me has been that the defence as a unit has improved by a mile, no matter who has been part of it.

Kompany coming back from injury has been a bonus, but he was available for long stretches at the start of the season (played 8 times under the former manager), as far as I can recall he wasn't tried in defence.

I wouldn't say Adebayor has had much of an impact defensively, and we seem to be as good in the times he hasn't been available to Mancini than when he has.

As for ignoring his "zonal marking bullshit", interesting theory. Anyway, in summary, the improvement in points, goals scored, goals conceded since Mancini took over has absolutely nothing to do with Mancini. Right?
Very good points.
The Ade not having an impact in defence is something i don't agree with.
If you remember the home game against chelski then he was a huge reason why we kept them down to one goal.
As for Mancini not having anything to do with teams not getting through our defence as much as when Hughes was in charge, well i'll agree other teams have a defensive midfield to bypass aswell so it's going to be harder to put us under pressure, BUT he's a top manager so as the new guys play more he will improve them as a unit,JL & WB being missing is a fucker though.
How can you possibly think that i will look at stats like that & get into any sort of conversation about them??i'm not being funny but if anyone was to do so they would be a fuckin idiot.
We have games left & i ain't going to temp fate & say why those stats are worthless but i'm pretty damn sure you know why.

Lescott was injured against bolton, so hughes had him for most games.
No he didn't 'm not getting into a question & answer but he didn't have him starting with the Spuds away game...or bridge or swp.

Can you not remember 4-5 games with Boyata, no Toure Ned Lescott Richards or Bridge and Kompany in and out

Does anyone have any proof of the players "ignoring the Zonal marking bullshit" or is it wishful thinking?

PROOF,PMSL,after the lies posted on here you want proof on this.
Watch Lescott, infact get a ticket for the NS or the SS & watch our defenders at set pieces.
It's better if you see it with your own eyes rather than believe anyone tbh.

It's amazing to me that such bitterness towards fellow City fans should manifest itself on here like this!

What the fuck are you arguing about?

This is our best season for 30 bloody years, and look at you!

Why?

tbf bluemanc replied to everyone with a point to make, when it would of been wasy to ignore, well played mate.
It was like being in the mastermind chair with people firing questions & wanting the answers straight away, the stats stuff i find tedious the rest is ok.
If you look back you'll see some football does get talked about on this thread, which is what it's all about.

It started as soon as our owners came in & it's not going to get any better.
Just you watch what happens if Maurinio comes in,it will be fuckin bedlam on here.
ps.the beer doesn;t help matters either, people should be breathalised before they are allowed on here.

PMSL,it works infact it works bigtime, but it's a bit like the Barca way of playing it has to be ingraied into a club OR just use parts of it.
How the fuck anyone thinks they can possibly do stats on it is beyond me.
When does it end ???is it still zonal when the ball reaches the edge of the area & someone fires the ball back into the net ??or is it supposed to be normal marking by then.
What do you do if 3 players like liverpool did to us break out of the box are you supposed to leave them ??if you go after them then surely you leave spaces for opposong players to run into.
Funny how pool use it but rafa knew what to do to confuse things.
No opinion on it TBH:)

i for one certainly hope Mourinho doesnt come. finally we have a manager with a bit of class. hughes to some extent. certainly a manager that has managed and can attract the best.
Wenger only has a year left on his contract & won't talk about a new one till the summer:)he wants to see which direction the arse are going according to the papers anyway.
I agree Mancini has class, but will he get the time, will any future manager.
People say Hughes took us to one level now Mancini will take us to the next which is the champs league, but will our owners then want a manager that has won in Europe to take us to that next level ????fuck knows.

-- Mon Apr 05, 2010 2:31 am --

I meant the stat man from a page back.
Goodnight.

bluemanc listen.

Zonal Marking works.

I don't need a ticket in either the south or north stand to see this bullshit you are coming out with. I can see it myself in other parts of the ground, it works.

and yes the stats do tell you everything on this as that is all that matters, how many goals you concede from it and they tell you that not even close to as many as man marking.

it's typical english old school mentality to come out with "zonal marking doesn't work". Try playing under it and see how far easier it is to defend set pieces, it doesn't make you immune to conceding goals but it's as close to anything else out there.

It's just another pathetic false theory to fuel your dislike of Mancini.

In this whole saga, what we must remember, Hughes was here when the owners arrived, so i think people are being rash thinking our owner is.
