Last 20 minutes were good I thought. Probably combined with the cheering of the United score.

SS1 seems to be in a split last few games with a section of 118-120 mainly at the back singing chants like best team in the land, come on city, singing the blues and we are city from maine rd, never win at home ( and a rogue ryan giggs is illegitamate at one poin).

and the singing section chanting singing the blues and we are city from maine rd, never win at home, guardiloa song, sane heartbeat tune and mainly the Edin song.

with neither lot joining in with each other (Dzecko song completely ignored by most of the SS1 it at one point).

Section will always start sifferent chants at some point, but seems there is a schism over what people join in with

Last night proved that fans just need to open their mouths to improve the atmosphere. No magic ingredient needed acoustics etc.
Was still quiet for large spells but the songs spread down the east stand last night.
Even the injury time “singing the blues” in a half empty stadium sounded good.

Thank you to most of the ss1 who ignored the Dzeko song. No sense whatsoever and actually think it’s disrespectful of the players who put in a shift last night and all of the season!

And that's not a dig btw as I expect you were, just what I could hear where I was, 119 was much more vocal and sang mainly classic city songs that got people near me joining in.

As for anti united songs, they were sung but weren't the 6-1/empty seat one but more older ones

I went to the game, I'm in eaststand level 3. Wasn't a bad atmosphere, but on watching the game later on TV, the atmosphere seemed much better for some reason.

I personally think tge 1894 group do a great job and the singing section does a job, but as I previously pointed out, there does seem to be a schism between parts of the same south stand where one bit wants to (or starts off more often) sing older fan favourites and another that sing songs like the Dzecko one and 600000 empty seats

with then some songs that both sing.

No song is bad if it's about city, but some just don't seem to get the crowd going.

It isn't. From where I am in 115, there were definitely more songs than normal coming from 119/120 which is great and I made a concerted effort to join in when hearing songs coming from your way, whereas some fans seem think it's a pissing contest and actually sing over a song that they haven't started themselves. As much as 114/115 is expected to carry the atmosphere and some of us in there put as much effort in as possible, I'm not precious enough to see my arse if a song starts elsewhere and catches on. That's the point of all this really - to carry the atmosphere further across the stadium.

We really need some new City songs.

Not current or ex player or manager or United chants...some decent new proper Manchester City chants about City that will be mainstays of our atmosphere long term no matter who we sell or sign or sack or bring in.

i agree. the songs you mentioned more people join in with. they aren't sung enough for me, particularly ones like super city. i can't remember the last time ' you are my city' or city til i die' was sung at the ground. two classics that most people would join in with. the dzeko song isn't bad, but most people dont join in with it and tbh as a one off its alright, but not when we are going for a win. its a bit like the silva maestro of maine road song - a small group trying to get it going and no one really joining in.

at times i get the impression one section sings something and then another block purposely start singing something else, instead of joining in. 119 sing more classic songs and i think more people join in with them then other areas - because there more popular well known songs.
